He’s Got the Whole World in His Mouf

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
But they’re both wrong; the world’s a ball
That reels with every bounce and fall
And when at last its time is up
It hits the mouth of some lone pup
But if it had to perish twice
I think I learned enough in school
To say that for destruction, drool
Is also cool
And would suffice.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

      He’s a poet!

(but I bet he knows it)

Extra points for Bob Dylan reference. 😆

Oh no…death by dog breath! The horror!

  3. Jennifer Bullis November 23, 2015 / 1:03 pm

WOW! This poem is Frostier than Frost!

Also, I think we need to rethink the whole world-on-the-backs-of-turtles cosmos. Looks like it’s Corgi moufs all the way down.

    Oh, well done, NTMTOM!

      **Polite golf clap** 🙂

Swallowed up into a black hole to emerge reformed as… Oops sorry. Bad metaphorical cosmological speculation.

    • Alison November 23, 2015 / 2:29 pm

You better hope that dog hasn’t swallowed a long hair.

      • Faye November 23, 2015 / 7:52 pm

        I call those danglers!

Is a Kronshe more devastating than an earth shattering Kaboom? Definitely slobberier, I should think.

        I remember that cartoon!

        • allein November 23, 2015 / 11:29 pm

I was hoping the picture would show in the thread, but alas…

So what does the guy in the back stand for and his turned back on our existential crisis?

God, turning away from his creation? Our denial of rising ocean acidity? Complacency towards the coming of days? Sitting down as a symbol of our passive role in our own destruction?

    • Gigi the cat lady November 23, 2015 / 3:02 pm

      Yes
      Yes
      Yes
      And probably

    • Faye November 23, 2015 / 7:58 pm

“Sitting on the patio” just became an existential condition. Oh you know how that guy thinks, he’s always out there “sitting on the patio”.

Didn’t Nostradamus predict this was how the world would end?

“Out of the room where the living of mankind takes place,
there is a creature whose sounds barken the end of days.
He will be the terror of skwerls and all will cower with the exception of cats.
His maw shall encompass the Earth.
Mankind will be covered in dog spit and shall know that the savior of all can only be more noms.”

      Brilliant!

One of the loveliest poems I have ever read. I like to think that Frost would tell you there’s nothing to apologize for.

This is a cloned dog?! I do think the world has something to fear, tsunami’s of mutated doggeh drool, the cutest apocalypse ever.

    • Faye November 23, 2015 / 8:04 pm

If I have to go, death by dog drool might not be so bad.

By the way, my poem outlines what scientists refer to as the “Big Fang Theory.”

    • fkaWaldenPond November 23, 2015 / 8:03 pm

Ok, so we need some ‘String Theory’ post in the next little while to compliment this. 🙂

      • Faye November 23, 2015 / 8:05 pm

My cat loves string, in theory.

        • fkaWaldenPond November 23, 2015 / 10:06 pm

You’re on it Faye! 🙂 And it truly is so good to see you and most of the others on this side. How do we get Oakley to visit this side as well?

          • Faye November 23, 2015 / 10:21 pm

            Thank you!

I’m frustrated about Oakley as well.
No idea how to contact or entice tactfully.

    • Faye November 23, 2015 / 10:24 pm

So the Universe ends in the “Great Gulp”. Sigh.

      • fkaWaldenPond November 23, 2015 / 11:15 pm

Nahh woman, don’t go there. Come on, turn that frown upside down and trail some string for your cat– and others who need to find the positive, bright, ‘right’ chase. We gotta keep getting the good stuff on. * and I will come calling to you and this site to remind me of this when I get down*

    • NathanF November 24, 2015 / 3:09 am

Funny, I was guessing this was the Big Kronche theory.
