Sunny and warm here in AZ. Our lizards our quite friendly, contrary to the previous post warning sign. πŸ™‚ Tried to load a picture, but even after shrinking and cropping it still says file size is too large. πŸ™

        Will do!

      • Haha January 23, 2016 / 11:36 pm

Two lizards in hand are worth one bird in the bush…wait, what? I’m so confused.

What a great pic! NTMTOM you are awesome! Thanks for doing all you do for us!

They are very cute, but they DO look a little cranky–or disapproving?–to me!

        Terrifying!

25 inches of snow so far here in NYC! Haven’t ventured outside of my warm apt all day. Thank you for all of the wonderful posts!

It was a chilly (for here in Tampa) 51ΒΊ here today, and is supposed to get down into the 30s tonight. But the palm trees don’t seem to be bothered by it at all, and I’m not, either. We’re mostly grateful that we’re not dealing with the 2+ feet of snow that has fallen on our old house in Virginia. My husband grew up in far northern Minnesota, 60 miles south of the Canadian border, so he figures by the time he left at 18 he’d had enough winter for one lifetime, hence our flight to warmer climes last fall.

Everybody stay safe and warm and dry, and if you do go out in the snow, throw a snowball or two for me, please!

Well, it’s not Godzilla (a dinosaur, not a liz(z)ard) so Gotham is safe. If it’s a reference to Eddie Izzard, then you’re on your own. Just keep a shovel handy.

Cold but sunny here today in South Cental Ontario! Made a big pot ‘o chili for dinner. Happy I’m not shovelling out this weekend!

I spent the day at my parents’ house with a migraine. My mom was afraid I’d freeze to death if the power went out (it didn’t), and they have a fireplace. My car is pretty much buried with all the drifting.

I have a cat’s-eye-view out the kitchen window from this afternoon, but the pic is too big and I can’t edit on my tablet. Let’s just say they were enjoying the show at the bird feeder. πŸ™‚

So sorry about the migraine. I had severe migraines
from age eleven until around sixty- five. No more.
One benefit of aging. Low barometric pressure
will do it everytime. Today will be better. Let
Mom do her thing today. You deserve it.

        Thanks πŸ™‚

My first was at eleven, too. I don’t get them as much as I used to, and they’re usually milder these days, but yesterday was pretty miserable. Woke up a little while ago and feel a bit hungover. But I will have to go help my dad clear the driveway. I’ll have to go home at some point today…

        • Phred's Mom January 24, 2016 / 10:53 am

The clean cold air will help the
          “hangover”, as will the exercise.
          Have a hug.

Gonna have some scrambled eggs and toast first. πŸ™‚

It’s 30 degrees in Atlanta so everyone’s acting like it’s the end of time. The stores are out of milk and bread though.

We’re kind of pathetic when it comes to weather.

Eh just another normal day in New England. Any storm under 3 feet of snow is minor ?
    Go Pats!

  9. Flowerfanatic January 24, 2016 / 6:35 am

This is Central Florida but it sure doesn’t feel like Florida. We have 34 degrees that feels like 29 according to our weather gauge. Many plants will not survive, my lovely papaya for sure and it had 5 little papayas on it!! They get too big to put in pots so it could be brought in so it’s a gonner. Not sure about the banana plants. Many flowers and trees don’t survive below 50. Glad I saved some of my Illinois winter gear when we moved here almost 10 years ago. It’s going to be needed today. We’ve lost several palm trees in the past to weather like this. We usually have only a few days with temps like this but enough to do quite a bit of damage.

      So sorry. ☹

Here in NC it has been cold and snowy, but we dodged the bullet they said was coming. Predicted 12″ for us. We got 4″ (snow and sleet). However, my road is not likely to get plowed for awhile and all I see is white. Haven’t been out of the house since Thursday a.m. except to fill up the bird feeders. No church today and I’m guessing no school for a few days (gives me more time to put off grading papers and doing report cards).
    Stay safe out there, people!

  11. Phred's Mom January 24, 2016 / 7:42 am

Drifts of 2-3 feet. Sixteen degrees.
    Can’t move doors against snow,
will go out garage and chip away
at the piles. It’s beautiful. Lovely
    clear sunrise. Pecan pancakes
for breakfast. Life is still good.

    • Claire January 24, 2016 / 12:20 pm

I like your attitude! That’s how I feel about big snow storms too. I’m sad to be just a bit too far north and west for this one.

  12. Faye January 24, 2016 / 8:14 am

Another update: all good. The wind blew the snow away from the driver’s side of my car!!
Nowhere to drive until Tuesday. Temperatures predicted to be 35-40 degrees here Monday and Tuesday so I’m going to let Mother Nature do her work on my car. Going to run it to keep the battery charged.
