The Return of the Cute White Duke

Just as we get used to a world without David Bowie, the St. Louis Zoo presents us with Ziggy, a baby Guereza colobus monkey born January 10, the same day Bowie passed away. Ziggy’s white fur and pink face will change to adult black-and-white at about six months. Full story at St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

He reminds me of my grandpa somehow.

      He kinda resembles grandpa Munster.

lol. He does. It’s the white hair and the smile that really made me think of my grandpa.

I really enjoyed watching the Munsters. Although the Adams Family’s theme was easier to get stuck in the head. ?Da da da dum, snap, snap.?
This baby Ziggy has the same sweet expression of Grampa Munster. 🙂

Just try to get that baby. I don’t think so! Precious gift from the center of the universe.

I’m not usually a fan of monkeys, but this little guy is adorable, as are the adults!

D’aaw, what a sweet little face!

    They’re so human! Very sweet.

I think it is the shoulders and stern expressions; but beyond that they are so wonderfully non-human, magical. I think Bowie would fondly nod and say “Hallo Spaceboy…” *happy sigh*

        Hello Young American…

🙂 He apparently hated this ‘commercial album’ save for this song which he wrote for Coco… I will take this any day over ‘Let’s Dance’…https://youtu.be/c4ZZMbpUFMY

    Dramatic outfits.

But how do we get used to a world without David Bowie?

    • Faye January 29, 2016 / 8:31 am

      We never will.

    • Saffron January 29, 2016 / 11:03 am

I don’t know, Deb. I remember when Ziggy Stardust was on the scene it was the first time a lot of LGBT youth saw someone different; someone who was androgynous and it made no difference, from what we could see, on his success. I am not a musician, but he still had a huge influence on me. He gave me courage to keep going and I thought that maybe if someday the world would catch up with him we would all be OK.
      RIP David.

Thanks, Saffron! In some ways the world has caught up with David Bowie. In other ways, the world will never catch up!

I agree. I see so much change.
