The Flying Bun

It really was no miracle, what happened was just this:
The wind began to switch, the hutch to pitch
And then from its foundation it became unhitched
For Storm Gertrude in Ireland caused the wind to whip up, which
Blew me on the roofΒ faster than my nose could twitch
And oh, what happened then was rich!

A clever plan was hatched, a fireman dispatched
Who rescued me quite carefully and brought me down unscratched
And soon they’ll patch my hutch with craftsmanship unmatched
Which is a quite happy situation, for I’veΒ grown attached.

What a lucky little munchkin, Paul P.! (Now that I’ve planted the earworm, here’s the actual song.)

    Somewhere over the rooftop
    Bun did fly
And the dreamy men we did hear about
    Came and took him down.

Ohh, that lucky bunneh. I’m so glad it was rescued and seemingly unharmed. I wonder how it really got on the roof, maybe I don’t really want to know.

I love Bunway Air. Now it seems they’ve started servicing Ireland, so that’s a win!

Thank goodness there are no flying monkeys in Ireland. And your little bun too!!

Is that a Bun Run for the Fire Department?
Hey Chief, nother bun on the roof! What is it with these guys on Sunday. Trying to get on the webs or sumthin’?

Bravo, NTMTOM…this is one of your masterpieces! And what an amazing story with a happy ending!?

  8. Mikeyfur January 31, 2016 / 4:19 pm

This is going on the already very long list of NTMTOM favorites. I’m sure disapproval was dripping from that rooftop.

    Seriously?

So glad the fireman were able to step in and take care of the situation.

However, that news video needed subtitles. I heard something about ladder, bunny, family but that was about it.

Shame the roof wasn’t thatch or bunny could have had lunch. Glad all are safe, natch, but next time, set the latch on the booby hatch if you want to avoid a rematch of the wind snatch, ok?

Still, we were touched by the rescue; in short, we likes this very mutch.

        Something something Benedict Cumberbatch …

        • Faye January 31, 2016 / 6:24 pm

          Anything Cumberbatch is fine.

      • Saffron January 31, 2016 / 7:32 pm

Wait, is this an episode of Starsky and Hutch?

    • Faye January 31, 2016 / 6:22 pm

      Nice!!

OMGERD! So i had to google for details. Turns out, his name is Bumper (perhaps a brother of Thumper?) and that his hutch was catapulted into the air during the storm and they figure he was tossed onto the roof during the catapulting episode (bunapulted?).

    • Sedro6 February 1, 2016 / 7:09 pm

      Definitely bunapulted

  12. Tamara February 1, 2016 / 10:56 am

Oh, and the storm was named Gertude!
