Crashed Bandicoot

A farmer in western Australia found a little something extra: a baby bandicoot, blissfully buried among the duck eggs. “I went to check on the eggs and a little bandicoot had made its way underneath,” the farmer reported. “The mother duck hasn’t taken offence to the little fella.” Even after the eggs hatched, the bandicoot stuck around.

Those baby ducks look so soft. I bet one day they’ll teach little ‘coot how to spin and foil mad scientists’ evil plans.

Just last week I was wondering why bandicoots (particularly ring-tailed bandicoots) don’t come up more often. Cute, but even more fun to say. Right up there with wombat…

They’re not the only ones who deserve an apology for that! 😉

    Interspecies Snorgling at its best!

First, I had to google what a bandicoot was & then saw how cute is was. I should have known it would be cute since it was from Australia. The bandicoot couldn’t have picked a softer nest (baby ducklings) in which to snuggle among.

    Quote from the original article:

“I wasn’t that surprised, I’ve seen a lot of strange things in nature over my time,” he said.

“I’ve seen a kangaroo fornicate with an emu; I’ve seen an eagle fly down and pick up a snake then drop it and then fly back down to get it.”

    Well, Um, ok……

That was one seriously mixed up kangaroo!!! I wonder if the emu had any objections.

They took ‘interspecies snorgling’ to a whole new level!

Yay! I was hoping someone else caught that – and Smartypants! whole new level. snort – ha!

Nothing cuter than a fluffy yellow duckling – well, on the par with a fuzzy little kitten. But the bandicoot is right up there also, especially a tiny one, sleeping away in his very own live down blanket. Smart fellow.
