You Can Now Edit Comments

Starting as always with the shout-out: Apparently reader Julie H.’s pets Chico and Poncho got ahold of her credit card and left me a generous donation via the tip jar. Way to go, kids.

Moving on: I’ve noticed situations in which readers could have used a way to edit their comments after leaving them, so I added a function to make that possible. After you submit your comment, you will have five minutes to edit it, by clicking the link that says “Click to Edit.”

2016-02-11 05.11.04 pm

I’ve been testing it and it seems to work as described, but if you encounter any problems or have questions, please let me know. Update: If you add an image to a comment, then edit the comment, the image will disappear, giving the impression that it has been removed. However, the image is still attached to your comment, and you can verify this by reloading the page.

Can you apply this to life, please?

Problem is, when done with the editing you need Andie MacDowell to fall in love with you to break the loop and that’s a tall order even for a handsome guy like me.

        Every perfectionist’s dream. Infinite do-overs.

Ha! I snorted. Just what everyone wanted to hear! 🙂

Also, even though it was a comedy, was anyone else creeped out a bit by that movie? Be careful what you wish for?

This is great, Mike! I always feel so morronish when I don’t detect autocorrect’s nasty tricks before I click the “post it” button 🙂 Thanx!

I could use more money and a younger body.
    Nope. Nothing.

Chico and Poncho would like to clarify that they are NOT my pets.

    I am their Butler.

Nice of you to let them use your credit card! Can they type by themselves, or do you help them?

    NTMTOM four questions:
    1. What platform are you on?
    2. How are your stats lately?
    3. Can you have an automatic email acknowledgement? I don’t expect you to answer each email but I would like to know you have received mine.
    4. Can you make a world map with NTMTOMers locations marked in some way so we can all see the spread of NTMTOM.
    Thank you.

Faye: I’ll get to the other questions later, but I want to thank you for the idea about the auto-response to emails. I set that up this morning.
