    Roses are red
    The Donald is orange
    We love NTMTOM
    because..oh, crap.

    • Faye February 13, 2016 / 4:41 pm

Maybe this will help! Lol! I think you set us up Mr. Max.
Orange has almost no perfect rhymes. The only word in the 20-volume historical Oxford English Dictionary that rhymes with orange is sporange, a very rare alternative form of sporangium (a botanical term for a part of a fern or similar plant). Silver is another word for which it is almost impossible to find a perfect rhyme: the only candidate is the rare word chilver, which the 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary defines as ‘a ewe-lamb’ (i.e. a female lamb). Both orange and silver do have half-rhymes, though: the Oxford Rhyming Dictionary gives lozenge as a half-rhyme for orange, for example, and salver as a half-rhyme for silver.

        I am BUSTED!

        Thanks for the wordsmithing!

Eminem rhymed door hinge with orange. Brilliant.

    • amyliz February 13, 2016 / 5:00 pm

The Donald does remind me of a giant Cheetoh!

      • Smartypants February 13, 2016 / 5:16 pm

Yes, I’ve also heard the description ‘belligerent Tater Tot’ LOL!

Mr. Max, you’re well ahead of me – all I could come up with was “There once was a man from Nantucket…”!

Faye, how about ‘borage’ or ‘porridge’ as partial rhymes for orange? They lack the “N,” but have similar vowels and cadence.

        • Mr. Max February 13, 2016 / 5:34 pm

Belligerent Tater Tot was one of my snarkier, caffeine-inspired names for The Yuge One. I also think he looks like an Enraged Guppy with that mouth, with apologies to my ichthian friends.

And naughty you for the Nantucket thoughts! Although I did once find a book at my Dad’s house of naughty limericks, to which he had made many a contribution, and was an editor! Funny how he never showed me that one when I was little.

          • amyliz February 13, 2016 / 6:39 pm

Yes, I have never seen a picture of that man with his mouth closed!

        • Faye February 13, 2016 / 7:05 pm

          Awesome. On the rhyming words.

    • allein February 13, 2016 / 10:59 pm

      I literally lol’ed at this.
