Our favorite seafood connoisseur has a new name, a new home, and all the seafood she can eat. Marina, the hungry sea lion pup who spent the night in a San Diego seafood restaurant, was rescued by SeaWorld San Diego and has already gained four pounds. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the dehydrated pup is getting fluids, a mixture of fish and vitamins, and medicine for an eye abrasion. She even had a special visitor: The chef of the Marine Room restaurant, where she slept.

I wonder how she found just the right place to crash at the beginning of her rescue. Smelled the fish maybe? The chef knew she was a connoisseur of good dining. Great story and rescue.
Thanks for the follow up. We frequently read stories like this and never know what the outcome was. So happy to know the baby is doing well.
You chose well, little one! Keep healing and growing.
Yay for Marina, yay for the Marine Room and yay for SeaWorld San Diego!!!
Live long and prosper, little one…
Thanks for sharing this, Mike.
So glad the little fellow is doing good, thanks for the update NTMTOM.
Marina really lucked out when she wound up at the seafood restaurant. Couldn’t have picked a more
apropos location. Good for her; especially when stranded sea lion pups don’t always do that well without their mamas…..
She looks great – look at those chubby little neck rolls! Thank you for the update, NTMTOM.
And did everybody notice Marina’s little Valentine’s Day schnozzle? She luvs her some fishies, we loves us all the cuteness, and I love this group of friendly, funny people. Thank you NTMTOM!
Nice catch, Susan, and welcome to the comments! We’re glad you’re here.
AWWW. Thank you for pointing that out. ?
You know Marina’s gonna be okay ’cause she’s giving us that wink! (Yeah, I know, but still…) Cheers for everyone involved in rescuing her!
Great name for her! Glad she is doing so well?
Those tiny ears make my heart hurt.
I did not notice that but now that you point it out…GAH they are sooo cute!!!!!
Am so happy the little one is doing well.
