Quokkabat!

Shout-outs to Sharon and Margaret for using the tip jar! Thank you!

In the comments for the post with the quokka, there was a suggestion that such a thing as a “Quokkabat” (a combination of quokka and wombat) would be a good idea, and then I said that it sounded like a quokka with bat wings, and then reader Haha decided to create some proof-of-concept artwork, and here you go:

This makes me so happy I could incubate a sprinkler while visions of Quokkabats bumble about my head dangling leafy offerings. Fluttery wings flippity flapping as bulbous bellies bob back and fourth.
I would gladly accept half eaten leaf presents from this friendly smiling pal.

Yay! Progress in the project to make “I’m so happy I could incubate a sprinkler ” ubiquitous on the interwebs!

    • Mr. Max March 5, 2016 / 5:50 am

Haha, I, too, am so happy I could incubate a sprinkler, especially since YOU said YOU were so happy you could incubate a sprinkler before I said I was so happy I could incubate a sprinkler.

        Well said!

NTMTOM, before your line of merchandise goes into production, consider including a T-shirt that reads”I’m so happy I could incubate a sprinkler” over a picture of the emu about to settle on the sprinkler. I would certainly treasure it, along with my world peace hamster T-shirt. Does anybody else have one of those from the old ranch?

That’s awesome, Haha – I didn’t think it was possible for Quokkas to be cuter, but I love this guy in his Halloween costume. And LOL at the hover!

Should I be concerned by how at-home I feel here?

    • Debg March 5, 2016 / 1:33 am

You have found your people. They might be weird people, but they’re yours.

      • Haha March 5, 2016 / 2:02 am

Weird?!? Weird?!? I resemble that statement! 😉

    • Mr. Max March 5, 2016 / 5:54 am

Not at all. Nature has a niche for everyone. This niche is just a little bit more off base than some, but wonderfully so.

The other day I was walking by a neighbor’s house when I heard him shouting profanities at the roofing company who trashed his house. My dogs looked at me with that “Are you two related?” look, while I felt all warm and fuzzy. Ahhh! The language of my people, the Brooklynites! I realize not everyone saw it that way, but that’s what makes this great world go round.

I do so admire your DaVinci-like photoshopping skills. I must say the the Quokkabat is much cuter than the Bieberbeaver or whatever TF it was.

    • Haha March 5, 2016 / 10:11 am

Juxtaposer is so much more fun to say than Photoshop, and I can’t help but appreciate the juxtaposition of my poser and DaVinci.

    Of course, nananananananana QUOKKABAT!!!!

(I’m probably a few “na”s short. Story of my life….)

    • Clairdelune March 5, 2016 / 6:56 pm

DB, I believe on this site we’re all a few “na”s short. And we are all the better for it. 😀

      • Haha March 5, 2016 / 7:17 pm

I’m also a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

        • Mr. Max March 6, 2016 / 12:07 am

Not quite the full six pack, a few sandwiches short of a picnic, not dealing with a full deck…ahhh, a lovely and long list of euphemisms for being just a wee bit loopy.

I could Google this first but the illusion will probably be shattered– but for some reason this reminds me of a Teddy Ruxpin character!
