I’d Like to Make a Withdrool

Whoops! I’ve been so busy lately, that I forgot to give a shout-out to Janet for using the tip jar last week. Now I need to make a deposit, and wouldn’t you know it, I get stuck behind that one customer who needs extra attention and makes me wait.

Having a sender-inner like Andrew Y. is like money in the bank!

    Awwww. So sweet!

I can’t remember the last time I was in a bank that didn’t have a bullet-proof barrier between tellers and depositors.

We had those in Canada in certain banks years ago but the practice died off, but we still have no cute dog begging for treats.
Now the only place where you see those kind of barriers are in the Metro (that’s the subway system in Montreal) and you have to speak into the microphone and I’m short so they never hear me properly. ?☹

I was, last week, here in Bucks County, PA.
Doggeh is getting more interest than us hoomins.

Our bank doesn’t even have a counter between tellers and customers. The customer (me) and teller stand around a little kiosk with a computer and a money counting/depositing machine.

It took a little getting used to, but now I kind of like it.

I guess that there is no need for barriers because tellers have no access to cash.

      Way to go Ohio!

My bank has pneumatic tubes. The tellers speak to you via closed circuit tv. No money on public ground floor. I love it. I feel safe.

Pneumatic tubes!??! Are you from the past, Faye?

Really. It’s a relatively new credit union branch. I was shocked when it first opened. I needed instructions. You get to load the capsule yourself. Close it. Put it on a little launch pad. Then you push a red button. A clear door comes down. You hear sucking and then WHOOSH!!! It’s gone. The teller comes on line and talks to you. You wait and it whooshes back with your ID, money, receipt etc. the last time I saw them was in a very old Lane Bryant in 1970s.

You should visit my bank, it’s a small community bank.

Mine too – they’ve got a counter, but no partition or aggressive security. Basket of lollipops, seasonal decorations, etc. I think a banking dog would fit right in!

(adding) Oh yes, and they give out Milk Bones to pooches going through the drive-thru!

Looks like that last treat was the interest. Adorable interaction.

Well, that was better than having Gracie make a deposit right there on the floor!

When I was rather young, my dad gave me an envelope and dropped me off at the bank. He told me to “hold his place in line” while he dropped something off at the post office. But he took longer than expected, and I ended up doing his transaction for him. Just depositing cheques, nothing hard.
Before I played this video, I thought that was what the dog was going to do!

Did your Dad or the teller give you a treat? ?

How come I never get to witness transaction like this at my bank? Very high levels of cute and funny on this blog today, NTMTOM! Well done#

Is this particular bank hiring by any chance?

I want to live here. A dog getting treats at the bank, patient people in line, a waggy, tail? I’m in. Where do I sign?

Another reason why we should go back to the Goldie Standard.

The credit union I go to has a bag of doggeh biscuits by the teller desk for the drive through.
