Um, Can I Have My Wife Back?

Shout-outs tonight go to April and Sachi for using the tip jar. Thank you very much! Generous readers like you make me so happy, I could hug a chicken! (even if it makes Mr. Rooster jealous.)

I love the way the chicken psychs the kid at 0:05, Arne

I did not know this is a thing. Is this a thing? It is so sweet. Someone else is going to have to figure out if this is a thing because I do not want the mental images I fear would be permanently seared I’m my mind if I googled, “chicken hugging”.

Of course after you said that I just had to Google โ€œchicken huggingโ€. ?

      • Haha March 16, 2016 / 6:29 pm

        Well!
Is it horrific like my imaginative mind feared, or filled with beautifully innocent children hugging the chickens that care for them? ?

Google it! The first result I got was so sweet!

Then click Images! It’s awesome! Almost makes me wish I had a chicken to hug!

            • Haha March 16, 2016 / 7:57 pm

              Wouldn’t that be “Bwahhhkk”

            Magnificent!

I can think of two possible interpretations of this: White chicken walks to boy=”I missed you.” White chicken shrugs off hug to go around and peck at boy=”hey, where the heck have you been? I missed you.” White chicken hugs boy=”now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, I need a hug.” Or else it could be: “Hiiii!” “Hey wait is that a juicy bug on your shoulder?” “Nope, just lint.” “Hiiii!”

    • Julie March 16, 2016 / 7:38 pm

OMG. According to Google, the reason why the chicken pulls away from the boy and pecks him is because he had just come back from the barber and gotten quite a bit of hair cut off.

The chicken needed to make sure it was her boy.

This gives me all the feels.

This also makes me feel the sads because I eat a lot of chicken ๐Ÿ™

woops, I was applying my parrot’s psychology to this nice little chicken…. I had to go away for two days recently and my bird was happy to see me, then ticked at me for going, then happy to see me, etc., poor beast.

    Awwww! That is SO sweet!!

Can’t imagine hugging a chicken myself with those pecking beaks, but still . . .

I’m not worried about this kid. He is clearly an expert chicken handler.

I never realized that the love between a boy and his chicken could be so beautiful.

This video makes me feel conflicted, t’s cute seeing how gentle that little boy is with his chicken but it also makes me feel guilty.

I’ve been told that when I was 2 years old I tried to “ride” a chicken at my grand-father’s farm and broke it’s back, my gramps put it out of it’s misery immediately and I think we had it for diner. In my defence I had never seen a live chicken before being a city kid and I have no recollection of the incident but still, I feel bad about it to this day.

    • Clairdelune March 16, 2016 / 8:10 pm

Gigi, I can understand why you would feel bad, but a 2-year old can be forgiven. On the other hand, older folk who hurt animals and should know better can be kicked in the shins without a qualm. ๐Ÿ˜€

      • Haha March 16, 2016 / 8:25 pm

Ha! I often joke with people who are upset by someone by asking, “Would you like me to go kick them in the shins for you?”
Usually it is people who know I am a smart-alec and mostly joking. It usually elicits a smile. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ah, Gigi, when I was about 3, I tried to teach a duckling to swim underwater like they did in cartoons.

Let’s just say it did not end well.

To this day, I can’t look at sweet yellow ducklings without a swift (figurative) kick in the butt from my conscience…

So you could say we both ran afoul of fowls. ?

  6. Faye March 16, 2016 / 7:51 pm

    Who knew? ???????

  7. Clairdelune March 16, 2016 / 8:13 pm

That boy hugging his chicken is what love is all about. **sneef**
OK, when can I expect a movie/TV series called “a Boy and His Chicken”??

  8. murkle46 March 17, 2016 / 1:27 am

Maybe he’s just checking to see how plump and juicy she’s gotten since the last time?

    • Haha March 17, 2016 / 5:03 am

      Ha!
And unlike Hansel and Gretel who had other birds eat their bread trail to get back home, she kept eating her own.

        “I love you,McNuggets Happy Meal!”

        • allein March 17, 2016 / 10:46 pm

I went to the county fair a couple years ago and someone had a baby chicken named McNugget.

There was also a pair of chickens, don’t know what breed but one was black and white and the other was black and brown. Their names were Oreo and Chips Ahoy. ๐Ÿ™‚
