Holy Crap, I’m in the Wrong House

“Carl! You old rascal, I haven’t seen you since Sandbox Academy! Remember the old days, when we used to wrassle and I’d play bite you on the neck? Good old Carl, still… Wait a minute! You’re not Carl! You’re not even a cat!

It looks as tho’ these two will eventually become friends, when the rabbit loosens up a bit. My female rabbit is too aggressive with my cat to allow for interaction. And my little Dutch male is deathly afraid of the cat – he becomes a projectile and bounces around the room like a pinball. He’s afraid of many things.

My female cat would probably be afraid of your bunny. She’s afraid of most everything (though she was surprisingly chill with the Olde English Sheepdog my parents were babysitting last weekend…even stretched out on the kitchen floor just a few feet away from him, which is not something she normally does even without a giant dog around).

My first bunny, a female named Shakespeare (don’t ask) mounted my neighbor’s cat whenever the opportunity presented itself. It’s a domination thing, seen frequently among warring factions.

Yeah, Stars would run and hide under the bed. Her favorite places are either on or under my dad’s bed, depending on how relaxed she is. Though she does pick fights with her brother (which she tends to lose because he’s bigger than her). Pretty much on a nightly basis, you’ll hear a hiss (from her) and then eight little feet thundering down the hall for a few seconds. Then it’s over and all is well until the next time.

I was afraid the cat could have quickly bitten the bunneh. The bunneh didn’t look too amused. I know my bunnies would have been long gone and hiding.

🙁 Poor bunny. I think it should have been stopped instead of videoed . . .

I trust that you would never put anything bad on this site, Mike. But this clip rather upset me. I agree with Ellie’s Maid.

          Mike, you don’t disappoint.

My comment was for the owner who allowed the cat to do that and just stood by videoing – not you. Maybe we should let something bigger than the owner hold them down and chew on them and see if they like it . . .

          Yeah, I like that idea . . . 😀

I wouldn’t be too worried. Bun does not seem initially concerned about the cat. Ears are up and alert, posture is open and curious. My guess is that the bun is at minimum acquainted with said kitteh.

I agree – if the bunny were alarmed it would’ve acted, either using its back feet or running away. The cat was playing and while the bun wasn’t having much of it, it didn’t seem overly perturbed. Trouble is, cats and bunnies don’t speak the same language and it takes a while for them to learn to communicate.

Long-suffering bun: If I just sit here and ignore him, he’ll go away eventually. *sigh*

Phhht, this is nothing; come on folks simmer down. My older brother would roll me up in the runner carpet and wedge me between the wall and piano with just my head sticking out, stand back and giggle. We are still quite close.
