Cozy Cat Crime Caper Crafters

This week on “Book Nook” we’re talking to husband-and-wife mystery writers Patricia and Richard Farqhuar, who have written six novels under the pen name Cat Urday. Now, I understand that you have an unusual habit of writing in bed, is that correct?

Patricia: Yes, that’s right. We find it relaxes us and helps us concentrate.

But isn’t that awkward? What if you need to go to the kitchen for something?

Richard: Oh, we have staff for that. Our servants are such a treasure in every aspect of our work. In fact, many of our best mystery stories grew out of our various fantasies of how we might kill them.

We get support for “Book Nook” from The McGuffin Foundation,  The Red-Headed League of Women Voters, The Legal Defense Fund for Butlers, and sender-inner Elizabeth G., from The Maine Coon Life on Instagram.

    Yak stampede! 😀

They both look like they are thinking up a dozen more creative new methods.

Oooh! I had no idea there was an Instagram for this! My two favorite things – Disney and cats – huzzah!

With apologies to everyone if required, I think the sheets and pillow slips would be something for mystery writers to write about. I know those stripes would be a horror story for ME.

        Rhymes of clashing?

I have bad astigmatism so they would definitely drive me insane.

I think tripping them at the top of the stairs by walking between their legs should be on that list of various fantasies of how they might kill their servants.

I know my cats have tried that method with me multiple times (with no success yet) 😀

NOMTOM, this one HAS to go in the coffee table book. I’m still chortling.

Like so many other things, cats have found the best solution to writer’s block: go to bed!

Incidentally, there’s a bookstore named The Book Nook in my hometown.

Positive that they are checking into NTMTOM website. Where else could you find just erudite commentary?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I apologize for the omission of credit.
