I Slept Like a Rock

First off, shout-outs to Kristin and Nora for using the tip jar! Thank you! Also, I want to express my continued thanks to all the subscribers for sticking with me.

Next: I like to welcome all new commenters, so I’m slightly embarrassed to note that I forgot reader Lurkingduck, who has made our comments area so much fun. Sorry about that, LD.

Finally, Andrew Y. just sent this funny cartoon about a rock that just wants to remain at rest, but Fate — and a few million years — have other plans. Thanks, Andrew!

Geezus, just when you thought your millennium was off to a good start.

I feel for him: What you really need is a really good sleep, but there’s always someone wanting to grind your gravel.

That was WONDERFUL! (I hope this doesn’t cause me to start feeling empathy for rocks)

Thinking the same thing. Are the rocks in our yard happy? 🙂

      • dubravkamcvmd April 5, 2016 / 1:18 pm

Uh-oh. I guess I’m lucky I don’t have my own rocks whose happiness I might have to start brooding over.

Think of all those people in the 70’s who bought Pet Rocks and then threw them out when they got tired of them, and now there are feral rocks all over the place.

Really funny and it makes a leeeetle bit of sense to me. Uh oh!

My search also brought up Pet Rock Rescue And No-Kill Shelter (P.R.R.A.N.K.S.) but it’s on Facebook which is blocked where I am at the moment so I couldn’t link it.

One of these days, a Masked Rock will take up their cause and will make all those unfeeling louts pay dearly for their callousness….

I’m not sure I agree with the “That’s Not Cute” tag…

    Either way, I loved it!

        🙂

On second thought, perhaps it’s more of a Cute or Sad? kind of post.

This is great, thanks NTMTOM! I know just how the rock feels. After years of sleep interrupted by crying babies, pets wanting to be fed or petted in the middle of the night, traffic noise, party-loving neighbors, thunderstorms, lawn mowers at 5 AM, and unwanted phone calls, this gives “sleeping like a rock” has a whole new meaning. 🙂

      Well said.

Gigi, I bet you shared some of my experiences. 🙂

From the comments, it looks like no one else had problems viewing it. My browser is bad with video, but it’s usually Vines or Gifs it can’t handle. In this case, it went green (a solid, very nice Kelly sort of green) in the middle and never got better. I clicked the link to watch it on Vimeo and it went green even earlier there. Sigh. I’m glad it was good!

I thought of that, too, but I couldn’t remember the title. It played before Inside Out.

I had no clue. Lava is delightful. Thank you for the link. ??

      • birdcage April 6, 2016 / 8:50 am

I lava that song so much.

        • Faye April 6, 2016 / 7:07 pm

I shared Lava with my housemates little girl age 8.5. She loves volcanoes. I thought of her right away when I watched this. Thank you Birdcage! She lava’d it!
