The newest critter atย the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park presents a very boopable nose — but you best not miss. That’s because she’s a Prehensile-tailed Porcupine named Clover, and while her quills may be soft now, they’ll have a point to make when she’s older. Born on St. Patrick’s Day, lucky Clover is the second baby for the zoo’s couple, Mattie and Zoey, and a major success for their breeding program.

Can I snuggle her while she’s still soft?
I’m sorry, but I can’t spell the sound I just made in response to this cutie. I’m sure you know which sound I mean.
I do! That’s the sound I’ve just made, too (in Polish, but that doesn’t really matter) ๐
Me, too (not in Polish, ho’ I claim Polish ancestry) It looks like that dear schnozzola was needle-felted!
It’d be hard to miss that circular shnozz!
She reminds me of that poor kitty on CO who got stung on the nose by a bee.
I didn’t find it on CO but if I remember correctly it’s this poor baby
Poor kitty! Looks like she could be Shrek’s cat.
That’s the one! I could swear it was on CO but I can’t find it, either.
There is always Waffles who grabbed a bee from CO.
Yes, I did find Waffles. I almost posted it and then I got distracted…
She has a supremely boop-able nosicle.
It’s specially designed for novice boopers! ๐
She’s too cute, I want to snorgle her!! Those bug eyes, the snozz that Jimmy Durante would be proud of, that floof of hair. Kinda reminds me of a troll doll, see the resemblance??
Oh my gosh matchings!!
How long do the prickles stay soft? Packs duffle for prescheduled Porcupine flight.
Boooooooop.
I scrolled again. I am ded I tell you.
I would think a baby-porcupine-petting quest would take precedence over a bunny-petting quest, softness being time-sensitive for the former.
Oooo tempting, yes. Lol!
Yes yes boopable nose and all that…
hernameisClover!
CLOVER!!!! that’s what got me. Not sure why.
Clover….. gah! So cute.
Tara,
I agree. The nose is awesome and made to boop, but Clover put her over the top.
Reminded me of the skunk named Clover in Bambi.
I think the skunk’s name was Flower, but I had the made the same connection.
Oops – as soon as I saw it I knew you were correct! Apparently I am getting old and have a bad case of CRS. (That will teach me not to google before I type) Thank you for the help.
Still — Clover is just the best name for a porcupine baby ever and Little Clover above would make a great Disney character.
– the dog..? You are named after the dog?!
– gotta lot of fond memories of that dog.
Let’s remember that she’s beautiful on the inside too.
Yes, and no gloves required to commune with her bright little soul.
She looks like she’s 98% nose!
A schnozz like that requires the next level of boopage: nose to nose!
Is kiss booping permitted? I so want to kiss that nose!
