Folks, it’s a gala night here at the Detroit Zoo’s Polk Penguin Conservation Center, for the premiere of the new penguin center. Opening April 18, the 33,000-square-foot facility will feature a 326,000-gallon aquatic area for more than 80 penguins.
Thanks to cute-respondent AJ! (Note: Video has no sound.)
Yeah, my video made it!!! OMG, I’m ded from this cuteness. I love how at around 16 seconds in, the penguin in the back looks up at the keeper, seems to be saying (like a 2 yr old!), I’m tired, don’t wanna walk anymore, can you carry me PLEEAASE???
That one looks like he’s having problems with his left side, his right wing is up but his left wings doesn’t seem to move and he seems to be limping a little but he keeps going, what a brave little guy. ❤️
Yeah, I see what you mean. Poor baby. I hope he gets better. But the other ones just get me laughing, they’re strutting so proudly on their “red” carpet, loving all the attention.
I volunteer as penguin carrier!
I love at the very end when the other one waddles back out – making sure everybody’s accounted for.
I think he was asking for his agent and a contract renegotiation. He was promised a limo.
Adorable penguins. Why be crated when you can walk on your own. Too cute.
They are hysterically vertically challenged though.
That’s why I love them, being a little “vertically challenged” myself ?
VCs unite!
(I love it though. Wouldn’t have it any other way)
I think they’re looking around for the paparazzi, not realizing this is only a rehearsal.
High marks for “waddle factor”.
Yay!! April 18th would have been Pablo’s 16th birthday!
I’m sure he would have loved to go see the penguins!
(OK, not really, but I can pretend.)
