Oh, come hear me chanty, it’s the tail of a pup
A swashbuckling cutie, you’ll just eat him up
Cap’n Stubby, they called him, and it was his duty
To steal all the loot and sniff every booty
With his first mate behind him, they travelled the ocean
A pillagin’ and plunderin’ when they got the notion
Then they’d leave a calling card behind for good measure
So best mind where ye step, lest ye find buried treasure
This was part of the scene at the 13th Corgi Beach Day last Saturday at Huntington Dog Beach in southern California. More than 600 corgis gathered on the beach for fun and frolic. Andrew Y. sent two links full of pics, from Buzzfeed and Mashable.
I love Corgis, they’re adorable just as they are – call me a grouch, but I don’t understand why all those owners would do such demeaning things to their pups. Cannot be very comfortable for the pooches. 🙁
I’m with you – Corgis are one of my favorite dogs – the list of other faves would fill several pages. I’m not a big fan of dressing animals either but people seem to love doing it and the dogs don’t suffer, I don’t think. Hope not. It probably doesn’t happen that often and I’m sure they love their pets.
Yes, I think the owners do it out of love and the little stumpers in the pictures look pretty happy! Try this with cats, though, and you’d better have the first aid kit handy!
600 Corgis? I’m surprised one place could hold all that derp and stubbiness.
I would take Cap’n Stubby over Captain Jack Sparrow any day! In this case short and blond beats tall and dark for sure!
Yo! Ho! Ho! And three Bottles of Rum for NTMTOM’s clever sea chanty!
Sniffing booty! Hee, Hee, Hee!?
I do love Mike’s rhymes!!
