A scared little bear cub was rescued from a Florida brush fire last week. According to CNN, firefighters found him during the “mop-up” phase after putting out the fire. Nicknamed “Smokey Junior” by the crew, the cub was slightly singed in places but not badly hurt. The Fish and Game Department took SJ in for treatment, and will try to reunite him with his mom.

That is one heck of scared yet cute bear. Holy smokes the cute factor is intense.
Holy “smokes”? Heh heh heh.
I saw him on the news last week! I hope they find his mom!
That face! Poor little thing. He seems so subdued. I hope he can be reunited with his Mom.
Oh those poor little earsies, I would so like to kiss them and make them better.
Hope they find mom and she takes him back, the poor little guy looks so scared.
Oh I so want to give him a (little) bear hug, but I guess there ought to be some reward to being a firefighter.
OMG….the hovertext…because SJ is most definitely throwing out some side-eye shade.
Something tells me that Mom wasn’t so lucky. At least Smokey will be safe at an appropriate rehab center until he’s ready to be out on his own.
Those guys are heros for one more reason
I wish they wouldnt have held the poor cub that way for that long.He looks dazed and frazzled. His mind must have been shortcircuiting from what had happened and the activity he was suddenly thrust into without mama there too.
Precious babykins! Thank you, firefighters.
