    It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there.

    (Would this be considered cannibalism?)

    • Haha April 29, 2016 / 9:35 am

      Canineibalism

      • allein April 29, 2016 / 9:42 am

        Ha! Very nice!

        • Clairdelune April 29, 2016 / 9:45 am

The adorable little doggie-in-the-bun looks VERY worried.

          • allein April 29, 2016 / 9:47 am

I don’t know…I always thought the little smile made him look rather..unsuspecting…

            • Clairdelune April 29, 2016 / 9:53 am

The eyes… look at eyes… that’s one worried pooch trying to look brave.

Yes, he’s like “We’re just playin’…right?” Yes sweetie, we are – we’ll have some Tofu Pups, and you can have treats.

          • Murray C. April 29, 2016 / 12:13 pm

Worried with a bit of “you’re just doing this for fun, right? I mean, you’re not SERIous or anything, right? I’m gonna pee on this bun, then you’ll be sorry!”

        • allein April 29, 2016 / 12:17 pm

On a side note, this picture is at least a few years old…I wonder what this tiny pup looks like now…

        • Julie April 29, 2016 / 12:24 pm

I LOVE the first pic of the dog with the other dog’s head in it’s mouf!!!

        • 6rabbits April 29, 2016 / 10:16 pm

The teeny puppy in a bun is one of my favorite photos, and I agree with Murray C. about puppy’s thoughts!

    • Clairdelune April 29, 2016 / 9:43 am

Allein is the Punster of the Day!! 😀

      • allein April 29, 2016 / 9:46 am

Wow…I thought it was too obvious of a joke. 😉

      • Murray C. April 29, 2016 / 12:09 pm

        Yayyyy!

*slow golf clap with head-shaking appreciative expression on face*

  2. Emmberrann April 29, 2016 / 9:40 am

What do I want on my hotdog? My mouth! Gimme!

  3. Clairdelune April 29, 2016 / 9:50 am

I’m not very fond of hot dogs – the Oscar Mayer variety, that is – , but the black doggie’s infectious enthusiasm makes me want to eat one, with lots of mustard and relish. And share it with Doggie. After Doggie gets kissed and hugged. 😀

    • allein April 29, 2016 / 9:53 am

Oscar Mayer all beef are the only kind I would ever eat (and I haven’t had one in years…though I did have several of those tiny hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough at Thanksgiving last year. I generally don’t eat that kind of stuff but for some reason they were calling to me that day).

      • Faye April 29, 2016 / 11:51 am

        Unfortunately, I know that sound.

        • allein April 29, 2016 / 11:54 am

It was the crescent roll part that I really wanted. 😛

          • Julie April 29, 2016 / 12:26 pm

I hear you. I’m not quite a vegetarian, but pretty close.

Sometimes I just want the hint of meat smell/taste.

          • Faye April 29, 2016 / 7:29 pm

The call of the carbohydrate. I hear them around 11:00 pm.

      • Murray C. April 29, 2016 / 12:16 pm

Ear worm time! “Oh, I’d love to be an Oscar Mayer Weiner, That is what I truly want to be-ee-ee. And If I was an Oscar Mayer Weiner, Everyone would be in love with me.”

        • allein April 29, 2016 / 12:18 pm

          I hate you. 😉

          • Murray C. April 29, 2016 / 12:22 pm

I remember seeing them but I don’t think I had one. I did see the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile as I was driving home from a funeral once. Lifted my spirits and I hope those of the deceased as well. (she had a great sense of humor and would’ve loved the irony)

          • Catwhisperer April 29, 2016 / 1:27 pm

            Yes! I had this version:

        • Jakepets April 29, 2016 / 1:47 pm

And the lesser-known second verse: “Oh I’m glad I’m not an Oscar Mayer Weiner, That is what I’d never want to be-ee-ee. ‘Cuz if I was an Oscar Mayer Weiner, everyone would want a bite of me!”

Also: “My bologna has a first name, it’s O-S-C-A-R. My bologna has a second name, it’s M-A-Y-E-R. Oh I love to eat it every day, and if you ask me why I’ll saaaaay: ‘Cuz Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A.”

          You’re welcome.

          • Murray C. April 29, 2016 / 5:39 pm

Ah, yes, I always loved the bologna version, too.?

            • Smartypants April 30, 2016 / 6:14 am

Yes…and I think at the end the kid grins and goes “How’s that?”

That whistle is great! I’ve never seen that, but I had a great series of Matchbox-size model cars that you could get for Cheerios boxtops. There was a little Corvette, a van, a semi truck, and I forget the rest – maybe a pickup truck?

    • Gigi_the cat lady April 29, 2016 / 10:31 am

When I was young we used to go to Montreal Pool Room for fries and a “steamie”, that’s a steamed bun with steamed hot dog with mustard relish coleslaw and liberally sprinkled with cayenne pepper, but my stomach won’t let me do that anymore 😀

  4. Gigi_the cat lady April 29, 2016 / 10:06 am

Ahh the dog days of summer, I can’t wait!

  5. Mariana Paes April 29, 2016 / 11:49 am

    so happy!!!

  6. Faye April 29, 2016 / 11:55 am

You see hot dogs. Dog sees food of the hot gods. Exaltations and hallelujahs. Put your paws up!

    • Catwhisperer April 29, 2016 / 1:29 pm

He does look like he’s saying Hallelujah!

      • allein April 29, 2016 / 1:34 pm

This song just popped into my head..

        • Catwhisperer April 29, 2016 / 4:44 pm

I’ve never heard that song. That was awesome!! Thanks, Allein. 🙂

          • allein April 29, 2016 / 4:50 pm

I love that song. It’s just fun.

            • Faye April 29, 2016 / 7:34 pm

Doggie definitely thinking that exactly. ?

        • 6rabbits April 29, 2016 / 10:24 pm

Never heard that song before but I ? it!! ?

  7. Julie April 29, 2016 / 12:28 pm

I’ve always suspected that Nom Tom owned a cat, but with this post – I want another hot dog on top of my hot dag – I’m not so sure he doesn’t also have a dog. Because that is dead on dog-think.

That pose was our silly pup last night when hubby was browning chicken. She acted as his sous chef and stayed very, VERY close just in case some of the chicken accidentally jumped out of the pan into her mouth. And then she spent the entire evening re-checking the kitchen to make sure she hadn’t missed so much as a molecule.

    • Smartypants April 30, 2016 / 6:16 am

LOL, I can totally picture it – and they say you can’t get good help these days! 😀
