Thundermeow!

“Ah, Commander Bond, we meet at last,” chuckled Count von Blayvin as 007 regained consciousness. ย “And just in time to witness years of research and planning come to fruition. In just moments the Americans’ precious spy satellite will plummet to Earth, and our armies may invade without detection.”

Bond staggered to his feet and saw the endless banks of sonic reflection chambers, each one linked by amplification pillars to a massive radar dish pointed at the stars. Each pillar was surrounded by hundreds of cats, identical in every way.

“It all makes sense now,” said Bond. “The break-in at the pet store, the kidnapping of the world’s top cloning scientists…”

“You catch on fast,” grinned von Blayvin. “But not fast enough, or you would have known that the stolen cat was a rare Bavarian Yeowlspuss, capable of maintaining a perfect eighth note above high C for up to ten minutes. Soon they will sing for me, Mister Bond, andย when they do the West will be ours for the taking.”

I really want to know what the white ball next to the tail is for…

Also, this picture makes me a little dizzy…or maybe that’s just me.

    ———-
On an unrelated note, I have the mini-wall calendar from the old ranch, and I just turned the page this morning. For June it displays Rule of Cutenes #10: If you haven’t grown into your feet yet, it’s cute. But the picture is of a kitten in grass and you can’t even see his feet! So how do I know if it’s cute or not?!?!?!

    • Gigi_the cat lady June 1, 2016 / 9:52 am

It’s a kitten in grass, trust me, it’s cute ๐Ÿ˜€

      • allein June 1, 2016 / 10:03 am

He’s got teeny tiny fangs. Definitely cute.

  2. Faye June 1, 2016 / 8:57 am

Mind blown. How do you get to see the back and front of the kitty!? Awesome. I would love a 360 pic of my cat.

In my opinion those kitties will turn against Blayvin in a heartbeat.

  3. Haha June 1, 2016 / 9:39 am

I see a monkey in the dark markings. The tail is the tail. The hind quarters are sitting. The arm is reaching to the side just above the hind leg, and the head is looking the same way the monkey is reaching.

And kitty is impressive with the mouth!

(An eighth note is the length of the note. It could be an eighth step above a high c?)

High C. Now I want some juice!

    • birdcage June 1, 2016 / 9:42 am

Now that I’ve seen your monkey, it can not be unseen.

      • Haha June 1, 2016 / 9:46 am

        Ook ook ook!

      monkey-cat!!!

    • Gigi_the cat lady June 1, 2016 / 9:57 am

Darn, now I see the monkey too.

Kitty has a monkey on his back ๐Ÿ˜€

      • Haha June 1, 2016 / 10:03 am

        You made me snort/laugh! ?

    • allein June 1, 2016 / 9:57 am

      I see it too!

Sooo, since we’re talkin’ monkeys, I’m thinking some tropical fruit punch flavor would be appropriate…

    • fkaWaldenPond June 1, 2016 / 10:52 am

Good eye Haha! The monkey is fantastic!

    • Juno June 2, 2016 / 10:29 am

Actually, “eighth step above high C” doesn’t make sense either. I’d help out, but I’m not sure what NOMTOM was going for here. Maybe “eight octaves above high C”? That would be pretty darn high–what you call a ‘tall dog note’ (as in, can only be heard by tall dogs).

Regrettably, I’m not a music expert, so I’ve fallen into the sand trap of writing about something I don’t know well. I assumed this detail would be wrong and I’d be corrected. :/

        • Juno June 2, 2016 / 1:50 pm

NOMTOM, I will gladly volunteer to be your music consultant. E-mail me in advance any time if you’d like to avoid these embarrassing public corrections. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • Haha June 2, 2016 / 2:28 pm

Sorry. Embarrassment and regret was never the intention.
I assumed since the way your brain works is so wonderful a little learning/tweaking would be ok. I guess I just solidified the cliche of ass/u/me, with emphasis on the me.
I love what you have done and are doing here. I hope you continue being your awesome self.

But, if the Yeowlspuss sings the high note for 10 min for von Blayvin, won’t the glass in the mirror break, foiling von Blayvin’s nefarious scheme? Easy day for Mr Bond. Good double agent kitty.

  5. Gigi_the cat lady June 1, 2016 / 10:02 am

Bond will prevail, he has a way with kittens after all he charmed Pussy Galore.

  6. Smartypants June 1, 2016 / 10:07 am

I’d pay good money to see this whole movie!

Also, “I’ve seen your monkey” sounds really wrong… ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Duckie June 1, 2016 / 11:14 am

? More eye averting. Accompanied by a snerk.

    • Smartypants June 1, 2016 / 11:59 am

LOL, “Casino Royale” was on TV this weekend, and I found that I really, REALLY don’t warm to Daniel Craig; it got me thinking who else might make a good Bond.

So far I’ve got: Clive Owen or Sean Bean (both older than the character, but that’s fine); Jim Caviezel (not British, but interesting looking and intense) or Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (again, not British, but oodles of charisma, and his broken nose is cool).

Any other write-in candidates for Bond?

      • Phred's Mom June 1, 2016 / 4:19 pm

I’m with you, Daniel Craig somehow does not present as Bond to me.
Now, Clive Owen certainly has done for a long time, but then they never
asked my opinion. Clive it is. And will be, world without end, Ah, men!

        • Smartypants June 1, 2016 / 8:30 pm

          Great!

And since Judi Dench has stepped down from playing “M” – I nominate…Maru! We all know he’s the boss, and he even has the right initial. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Juno June 2, 2016 / 1:52 pm

I have never watched a James Bond film, but if he’s ever played by Idris Elba, I promise to watch. Repeatedly.

  7. Faye June 1, 2016 / 10:34 am

Omg it’s a monkey wearing a cat head hat!

Ah, yes, Pussy Galore. Brings back memories of hard edged blondes. Kim Novack, Angie Dickenson, Ursula Andress… Then the Hitchcock blondes…

    • Gigi_the cat lady June 1, 2016 / 11:09 am

Yes, the Bond blondes did not hesitate to, if youโ€™ll pardon the expression, kick ass. The Hitchcock blondes were more of the damsel in distress kind.

      • Faye June 1, 2016 / 10:09 pm

Not Grace Kelly in Rear Window. She very daring.

  8. Duckie June 1, 2016 / 11:12 am

I’m laughing at the comments, but the meaning behind some of them escapes me. “Pussy Galore”? Am I missing something?

    • Not That Mike The Other Mike June 1, 2016 / 11:17 am

Name of a character from the James Bond novel and movie “Goldfinger.” Memorably played by Honor Blackman in the movie.

      • Duckie June 1, 2016 / 11:33 am

Ahhh. Was not allowed to watch James Bond as a child, after my second one. At a certain point, dad announced ‘another virgin bites the dust’, and I asked ‘what’s a virgin, and how did she bite the dust?’

      • Duckie June 1, 2016 / 11:34 am

Guess not watching Bond just continued into adulthood.

  9. Madame X June 1, 2016 / 2:51 pm

Is that Luciano Purrvarotti singing “Nessum Dorma”?

    • Faye June 1, 2016 / 10:07 pm

      Wow!
