Drip-Dry Maru

Shout-out goes to Patrushka, who adds: “Thank you for sharing so many cute critters with all those funny comments! I end my day with this stuff so that I can sleep peacefully. I think my cat, Mooch, likes your site too, well maybe only the other cats.”

Here’s something Mooch will like: It’s Maru and Hana as you’ve never seen them before — wet. Thanks as always to Maru-watcher Andrew Y.

I see His Roundness is not actually very round. It’s all fluff and air!

Quite a revelation, isn’t it? 😀 Definitely explains how he can fit into virtually anything.

And the shaking of paws in slow motion just proves that they’re completely boneless!

If I were mugumogu, I wouldn’t be turning my back on Maru any time soon! Those were death glares he was giving the camera, weren’t they?

And I loved the way, when Hana shook out each of her front paws, they looked utterly boneless. I swear, cats have the ability to change the solidity of their corporeal beings whenever they want!

ETA: I see I wasn’t the only one noticing the paws!

That was my focus, too, those slo-mo paw shakings! And the death-ray eyes.

I didn’t know they had an outdoor deck…and what a nice view, too!

Bathing 1 cat is well-nigh impossible. How on earth did mugumogu manage to bath them both? I am in awe as well as admiration!

    • Duckie June 4, 2016 / 8:59 pm

I know! Mugumogu just puts a box in the shower!

If there were any way to ensure Maru getting into a bath, that would be the ideal! People looking at me as if I am nutz. It’s ok, of course, I am.

OMG! I actually saw fur flying off of Maru and land on m Mugumogu’s clean floor!
    I feel faint ….

      Best part!?
Also suprised that “his roundness” is not really round at all! That is some seriously fluffy fur he has!

MAru’s tail is just fluff! who knew? I always admired its fullness.

Usually one licks something to make it wet. They seem to be trying to lick the water OFF. (Which only works if their fur is wetter than their tongues.)

I hope after she was finished videoing, she dried them off. They looked quite unhappy. I know she loves them, so I assume she didn’t let them keep suffering.

I know it makes sense to them, but I don’t get it.

When you give a cat a bath, why must they immediately bathe themselves?

    • dubravkamcvmd June 5, 2016 / 8:39 am

Their fur is matted and has stuff on it?

    • Murray C. June 5, 2016 / 9:09 am

It’s like us when we wash our hair – we blow dry it, mess around to make it nice. Cats, lacking opposable thumbs and by extension the ability to use a hair dryer (of which they are afraid anyway! except for the looney few) use what’s at hand – or mouth. Remember, those little tongues have a comb built in.?

Could it be that Maru has been dieting? Surely all of that roundness can’t have been fat hair. Maru has always reminded me of the Sandra Boynton cartoon of a fat cat with the caption, “I’m not fat, I’m fluffy.” (Actually, I’ve noticed recently that Hana is taking on a bit of a Maru-esque “fluffiness.”.)

That’ strange- I didn’t comment, yet there’s my name with a different avatar. Hard to type right now.
