Hey, dad! I got you a new robe! Happy father’s day!

…A bunny? Um…No, it didn’t come with a bunny. That was a mistake in the ad. There was totally not a set with a bunny. Just the robe. Uh huh. Well, um, enjoy, I gotta go, um, check on something at home…. ? ?

I was gonna say…Dad gets the robe, I gets the bunny! ? (My dad would not want a bunny anyway–he’s a beagle dog? person.)
Hey! We should get this set for Faye, then she has a bun to snorgle! ??

Okay…on MY screen that dog emoji actually looks beagle-ish!

My Dad helped me convince my Mother that they were giving away free Hamsters at the grocery store if you bought a bag of lemons. She believed us for about a half hour. We had that hamster for two years. Hammie was its name, of course. No robe involved. Lol.

I had my Dad until I was 47. I miss my Dad, still.

Faye, “Buy a bag of lemons and get a free hamster” could be a NTMTOM caption – sounds like your dad was a character 🙂

I’m 52 and lucky to still have my dad, who will be 79 this year. I don’t know what I’d do without my dad. Don’t like to think about it.

          • allein June 19, 2016 / 12:48 pm

            Me neither. I’m 40; my dad’s 75.

How wonderful, I hadn’t heard that. And to reiterate what GiGi said, Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there.

And, Faye, that is a mighty fine Dad who would invent a ruse like that for his daughter. I just love it. My Dad was so strict in his religion – a good man, just hidebound in that way- that I could never really get to know him nor let him know me. He was known as “The Pope” in our parish, just to give you an idea.?

Then he missed out. Your awesome.

              Awwww, -back atcha!

That is an adorable story. I suspect your mom sussed that out in about five seconds but just didn’t want to let on.

I think that I would’ve named him Lemmy.

I have have had many hamsters, all with perfectly good names, but most are called/referred to as “sweet leetle hammie”.?

Father’s Day is not celebrated in my house since both my husband and my fathers have passed away a long time ago but I send warm wishes to everyone’s fathers out there in NTMTOM land.
But I do look forward to celebrating the summer solstice tomorrow.

    • Faye June 19, 2016 / 11:28 am

Me too! Full moon on the solstice. Not since 1967. ?

My comment above was supposed to be after mention of the solstice – not sure what happened.

Darn, my husband has already opened his Father’s Day gifts. He could use a new robe and I’ll take the bunneh. He loves bunnehs too, so we may need to get more than one set of matching robes and bunnehs.

Yep, the Guinness gets my vote, too, with Darth Vader face-planting in the foam. The Pusheen demo was great. I always liked watching Duff, the cake maker from Baltimore. I love his gang of artists and wished I could work there, too.

Love Cake Wrecks! She had a Sunday Sweets edition recently with “mirror finish” cakes which are dazzling!

        • allein June 19, 2016 / 7:49 pm

Yes! Those were amazing! Sunday is the only day I read Cakewrecks.

    • Kar June 19, 2016 / 8:41 pm

Sure beats the Whaley cake from Carvel.

      • Murray C. June 20, 2016 / 11:51 pm

HAH! I remember when Mr. Carvel used to do the voice-overs for his own commercials- he had a really terrible, unappetizing voice.

Wow. That dredged up an old memory.
