Pocket Pets

To: All Employees

This is a reminder that all kitties must be returned to inventory following the end of each shift. Kitties may not be taken home for any reason, even if it happened “accidentally” and you totally forgot about them, which nobody’s falling for anyway so just put them back, Trevor.

*shuffles slowly towards the exit hoping nobody notices kittens stuffed in boots*

      Puss in boots?
      Sorry. Couldn’t resist.

This would totally be me if I worked somewhere with pocket-sized anipals! How could you resist??

And now I know why it’s called a happy coat (google Marimekko iloinen takki [=happy coat], I’m terrible at linking). I’d fill ALL the pockets with cute kittens!

        Thank you!

I bet there’s a few Sugar Gliders in those pockets.

My very first job out of high school was in a pet store (many centuries ago, when they were popular). We wore aprons that went around the neck and tied in back. I always brought the strings back around to the front and tied them there, thus making a pouch. I ALWAYS had something furry tucked in there. And yes, I usually (and honestly) forgot it was there. I’d go to eat my lunch, and a small fluffy head would pop up, rather curious about the interesting smells.
    ??????

Awww. Ever go to take the apron off at the end of the day and find a passenger that you forgot?

Yes. And Siamese kitty was QUITE vocal about being awakened. Had to heat up gushy food before I was allowed to leave.
Next day a family came in and took him home. They’d seen him being carried about the previous day and wanted a feline pocket pet. They came back with him weeks later. He’d grown significantly and couldn’t fit in a pocket anymore, so he occupied shoulders instead. He remembered me and I got a purrub. But it was obvious he ruled the roost, and they had no complaints. They brought him back several times while I was there, and each time they were more and more under his paw.

That’s a wonderful story. *heart is all warm and gushy*

A vocally loud and demanding siamese? Who’da thunk it?

It might be worth getting fired for…

What could be cuter than a man with pockets full of marmelade.

Trevor, Get yourself an orange smock/happy coat. Maybe you can slip by loss prevention security that way. Just trying to help.

Anyone else reminded of the Puppy Coat from “Andy Richter Controls the Universe?”

    • Murray C. June 20, 2016 / 11:42 pm

      What have I missed????

  9. ffleur2 June 20, 2016 / 5:54 pm

Trevor wisely keeps his head down to foil surveillance cameras but I bet the kitties can be identified using feline-recognition.

I must rush out immediately and get me one of those smocks. Kitties are included, right?

It kind of looks like the one in the top pocket has spotted a fishy he simply must touch. . . .
