A Nest of Wipers

Home cameras are popping up in homes everywhere, and along with catching serious criminals in the act, they’re also showing us what our pets do when they think nobody’s watching, like this stocky fellow with a burning itch that only a dance on the carpet can scratch.

Owners of Nest internet-connected cameras have been sharing their funniest videos on the Nest YouTube channel, showing us outstanding examples of doggie determination, whether it’s for a snack…

… or a sofa begging for attack. These cameras show some amazing sights…

… and when the show’s over, please turn out the lights.

All cat owners need a NEST .. that way they can keep an eye on the evil things.

After all .. everyone know they are plotting to take over the world when we aren’t looking.

I got a Nest Cam to watch what my dogs do when I’m not around.

Turns out they don’t do anything. Like literally, nothing.

I have a butt-scooting kitty, but she isn’t the shy type. She doesn’t wait till I leave. Heaven only knows what happens when I’m actually gone. I keep taking her to the V- E- T to get her expressed, (sounds OK but it’s really gross). I feel for the puppy (and my Tinker), as it’s horrible to have that itch that one just can’t scratch.

Love puppers on the back of the couch going “What the heck are you doing?”

    • Julia June 27, 2016 / 4:51 pm

Yes! You caught that too! Total “WTH is wrong with you?!” look. 😀

I was going to write that there are so many unpleasant things people have to go through health wise ( mammograms, prostate exams) but I’m sure glad having your anal glands expressed is not one of them.

Then I decided to look up anal glands and found out … we have them too! ?

Colonoscopy preparation. The. Worst. And I’ve had a ton of medical and surgical stuff done awake and asleep.

Right there? Yah right there. Over a little.

Bunnies do not need their anal glands expressed, a fact I am heartily glad of!

See I needs me a bunny. Or at least a Guinea Pig. Someday.

      • Murray C. June 28, 2016 / 12:10 pm

Actually, they do from time to time. I’ve seen the woman who started the Rabbit rescue I work with showed me how and I’ve done it but only once and long enough ago that I forget. It’s not something that needs to be done too often but you should ask your vet about it and what to look for that indicates when it might be necessary.

Weird. I have an excellent exotics vet, whose speciality is rabbits and guinea pigs, and she has never even mentioned it! I’ve read numerous books about rabbits and never read it, either. I know some bunny people who clean their bun’s ears with castor oil once a week, and that was news to me, too. I guess my buns must be cleaning themselves well; they never smell and always have clean ears when I check.???

      Awww, Birdcage, I’m so sorry – I hope it’s a temporary situation.

    • Faye June 27, 2016 / 9:31 pm

Hi Birdcage. Hope all improves. Virtual hugs here.

    • Debg June 28, 2016 / 12:38 am

Birdcage, I hope your feathered friends are giving you birdie hugs.

    • 6rabbits June 28, 2016 / 12:47 am

      • Murray C. June 28, 2016 / 12:12 pm

Ach! That’s the cutest darn thing! If that doesn’t make Birdcage feel better nothing can! How’s it going today, Birdcage???

This video could easily be used as an ad for a carpet cleaning service or a home carpet cleaning machine. Or a company that will pick up your expensive Persian rug and take it to the incinerator.

Like half of everything on TV these days, I expected this to be sponsored by The Secret Life of Pets

Really hope that the movie’s more exciting than Mr Butt Scrunch here. Someone get him a warm washcloth already.

    • Faye June 27, 2016 / 10:55 pm

Warm wash cloth….. ROFLOL. He needs longer arms and fingers.

    • Ms Can Opener June 27, 2016 / 11:35 pm

I’ve tried the warm cloth technique on my Tinker, but (butt) she doesn’t appreciate that in the least. She fights so hard to get away from the wash cloth that it would take a second person in chain mail to hold her down while I wiped. It’s worth it to me take a car ride to see the you know who.

I also look longingly at the carpet cleaning commercials, but am waiting to see if the problem can be managed before the carpet is cleaned. Even though nothing shows, one knows it’s there. Yuck.

I use baby diaper wipes on my pups after every movement. It took some time, but they are now used to it. Since they sleep in my bed, and one of them likes to sometimes sit on my face to bet a better view through the window, I figured this might be worth the effort.

        • Faye June 28, 2016 / 9:35 am

          You betcha. Lol.

They say having pets boosts your immune system. Now I know why.
