More Roomba, Less Boomba

I love how the one in the back just sits and watches.

    “Did I just see that?”

Yes, he looks a little dubious about the whole procedure!

Did anyone else have a “Breaking Bad” flashback? Because I can almost hear Badger saying “Did that really happen?”

My dog Bucky Barnes, aka Captain America, if you’re a geek, hates fire works. So he hides in the bathroom. Then in the bathroom in the tub.
    Sad and ironic.

      Aw 🙁

Our Mini Schnauzer when I was a kid was afraid of thunder and fireworks. She was my mom’s dog (or my mom was her person). The only time I remember her ever sleeping in my bed with me was during a thunderstorm when my parents weren’t home. After the storm was over she got up and went somewhere else.

Going to a BBQ at my friend’s house in a bit; their town is doing fireworks tonight. Hope her sister’s dogs are okay with them.

Aww! Poor Bucky few things are scarier then the bathtub, but fireworks is one.

We have no idea how Sebastian will respond to fireworks. Melody is clearly uninterested. Which is fortunate, since the family across the street is seriously fond of their fireworks. They’re legal here in the unincorporated county, unfortunately, so it was pretty noisy at New Year’s, and I expect the 4th will be worse.

I was at my friend’s house for a BBQ today. Her mom and her (boyfriend? partner? whatever he is..) have a one-year-old Golden Retriever (well, she’s more of a cream) that they are training to be a therapy dog. She was very well behaved, but some of the neighbors were setting off firecrackers in the afternoon (which is not legal here but the police don’t care, at least not in her town**) and you could tell they scared her. Luckily they were gone before the town’s fireworks started, because you could see them from my friend’s front door. (They were going on as I was leaving so I sat in my car for a few minutes and watched.)

(**Apparently the people across the street managed to set their lawn on fire last year; my friend called the cops but they just came by and checked that no one’s house was gonna burn down and left.)

My birds don’t seem much fazed by the fireworks (maybe as it’s past their sleepytime), but friends’ dogs have had problems. One always hid in the tub, like Faye’s pup, the other would get to the centermost part of the house (top of the stairs) and put his head under his paws. Poor beasts, I feel for them.

And of course these terriers are adorable…. the expression on the nonroombaing one’s face is quite amusing. Happy and healthy 4th to all!

Cats, too, are firecracker- phobic. My late Mr. Picky hid under my sleeping bag at the bottom of my closet until the next morning. I think he got hungry and wanted me to get his breakfast.
