Marcel, you’re drooling in your helmet!

Looks like a little heavy breathing going on in there…

      • Gigi_the cat lady July 4, 2016 / 1:57 pm

Smartypants was refering to a line in the movie 2001

Yes. Thought I’d carry on the funny. Failed. Sorry.

Is that Lil’ Bub in that helmet? What, he’s out of this universe, now?

    • Smartypants July 4, 2016 / 2:48 pm

I also thought it was Lil’ Bub, but I followed the links and apparently it’s a cat named Scuba – owner’s name is Sammixxlove. She definitely has the same rapturous expression, doesn’t she?

    Cosmic man!!

    Ground Control to Major Tomcat…
Now it’s time to leave the capsule if you dare
“This is Major Tom to Ground Control
    I’m stepping through the door
And I’m floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
    For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
    Far above the world
    Planet Earth is blue…
And there’s a sh*tload of fish down there!!

I actually have some dim recognition of that. So much of the conversation on the site I don’t have a clue about – I am not a product of my own generation let alone the ones that have come after! Some – many, in fact – say that I was born too late. Shoulda been born in the teens or 20’s. Except the hygiene wasn’t so good back then.?

LOL, I can relate – my parents were far apart in age, and even though I was born in 1965, I grew up on a lot of books about the Roaring Twenties, the Depression, Bonnie & Clyde, etc. You can imagine how well I fit in at school…

      I love that song!!

Have you seen astronaut Chris Hadfield’s adaptation of it filmed while he was actually in space, on the ISS? It’s pretty remarkable!

    • Gigi_the cat lady July 4, 2016 / 6:37 pm

A revised version of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, recorded by Canadian astronaut Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station.

Thanks for posting the video, Gigi. I don’t know how to link. Heck, I don’t even know how to do strikeout in html. About all I can do is italics and bold and post stupid words. 🙁

      • Faye July 4, 2016 / 11:24 pm

I was stunned the first time I saw this. Made me cry when Bowie died. What a perfect tribute.

This was wonderful! Thanks for posting it – my education continues!
