10 points from the EU Judge such as it is.
    Seriously, perfect form. And fun!

Rams the side of your boat with a Greek trireme to dognap Mr. C.

I’m stayin’ out of this one.

I just want to swim with him and go down the slide myself! 80% humidity here with a expected high of 92 today. Theo bunny is planted over the AC vent!

Today is bearable here 30c/86F but tomorow it’s going to be 33c/91F but with the humidex it’ll feel like 42C/107F ! ! Thank goodness I’ll be at work where there is AC for most of the day!

It’s sunny and 83 right now. I just came in from having lunch outside. It’s a little humid but not terribly so, with a bit of a breeze. Good sit-outside-in-the-shade-and-read-a-book weather. Which is exactly what I did. 🙂

I think it’s supposed to heat up later in the week, though.

64 and raining hard over here so my pup has decided on snuggling and blanket burrowing. Which would be fine except we have to go on a walk sometime.

          • Murray C. July 12, 2016 / 4:06 pm

Me, too. I just got back from an afternoon with a couple of friends who belong to the most amazing pool – hardly anyone there, on lovely tree-shaded grounds, nice, cool refreshing water. Lovely. I’m in the water a lot, but mostly heavily chlorine treated YMCA pool. to swim outdoors is a treat. And I’d go down that slide with that doggie in a New York minute.

We have a salt pool at our house, with solar heating, but would you believe neither one of the dogs will even contemplate getting into it? Melody the greyhound has gone swimming, at a beach party a couple months ago, but she avoids the pool like the plague. And Sebastian the cocker just pretends it’s not there. And here it’s got such lovely soft water, minimal chlorine (the water is purified with salt instead — but you can’t actually taste the salt, it’s not salty like the ocean), just perfect temperature right now for cooling off. Silly dogs! Although I do need to take Sebastian in one day and make sure he knows where the steps are just for safety.

              • allein July 12, 2016 / 5:24 pm

We used to take our mini Schnauzer in the pool sometimes. She didn’t seem to mind the water, however, she would paddle-paddle-paddle and sink-sink-sink as she went. Good thing it was an above-ground pool so she couldn’t fall in.

I don’t think Pablo ever went swimming, but given his reaction to baths, I’m pretty sure he would not have approved.

      • birdcage July 12, 2016 / 1:43 pm

I had to google trireme. I think you win this round. (But not the war!!!)

      • Murray C. July 12, 2016 / 4:04 pm

Where’d you get all the rowers??????

        • allein July 12, 2016 / 4:06 pm

All the other dogs she ‘napped…

  4. Gigi the cat lady July 12, 2016 / 12:00 pm

Sorry but I do wonder if it was entirely his idea or if his human put him in the slide whether he wanted to or not.
It’s OK doggy didn’t get hurt or anything it’s just that that is a big slide for a little dog to climb on by himself.
Cute dog, great pool I’ll shut up now.

    • Phred's Mom July 12, 2016 / 12:09 pm

Perhaps corgi’s hoomin slid down with him when he was a pup
and thus got this started. That’s how I would do it if I had the
chutzpah to go down a slide into a pool to begin with. I don’t.
      S/he is a cutie”

  5. Phred's Mom July 12, 2016 / 2:00 pm

Murray C. is, of course, preoccupied with tomorrow’s visit with
the surgeon prior to her shoulder work. Murray, if you stop by
here, you have my good wishes for your day tomorrow. May
all your questions be answered to your satisfaction and a feeling
of confidence in the outcome be yours. Let us know how it goes.
Go get ’em, toots! We’re with you.

    • Murray C. July 12, 2016 / 4:09 pm

Thank’s Phred’s Mom – I will be happy to have it all sorted out. It’s nice to know that I have resources for some cyber sympathy.☺️

      • Phred's Mom July 12, 2016 / 4:25 pm

        You got it.

        • Faye July 12, 2016 / 7:29 pm

Yup. We have the cutest sympathy on the planet. Big bold sympathy at a moments notice.

Be well and be extra good to yourself.

      • Laura July 12, 2016 / 5:17 pm

I’m sure all will go well — and of course you’ll have all the sympathy you want or need here! Keep us posted as soon as you can, okay? And remember, if pain is overwhelming, your body has more trouble healing, so even if you don’t like taking pain meds, you’ll need them and should take them as prescribed!

        • Phred's Mom July 12, 2016 / 6:01 pm

Good advice, Laura. Properly taken, they are a godsend.
After having a kidney removed – radical nephrectomy –
the pain meds helped my sanity. Assuming I had much
          to begin with, of course.

      • Not That Mike The Other Mike July 12, 2016 / 10:36 pm

Hey, Murray: I’ve been busy all day so I hope I’m not getting this message in too late, but I just want to join the others in wishing you a successful procedure and a full and speedy recovery.

        • Murray C. July 12, 2016 / 10:49 pm

Not set up for surgery yet, NTM, but will find out tomorrow, I think. Thanks so much.❣

Murray C. it’s my birthday tomorrow and I’m giving you my birthday wish to use so everything goes smoothly with shoulder.

      • Murray C. July 12, 2016 / 9:05 pm

Omigosh, how wonderful of all of you! Thank you so much – and GiGi, that is such a darned sweet thought. ? Happy, Happy Birthday to you.
The Doc I’m seeing is head of Orthopedics at a New Jersey hospital and my husband knows him because he rows out of the same club and I think he’s done every shoulder on Boathouse Row in Phila. Very sweet guy. I think I’ll be in good hands.

        • Faye July 12, 2016 / 9:10 pm

Phew. Now I feel better. Soon you will too!

Take care, Murray. Cute wishes for a swift recovery.

How adorable! Cuteness will carry the day, no doubt, Duckie! Thanks.

  6. Murray C. July 13, 2016 / 5:28 pm

The next day: Surgery scheduled for September 1 – the Doc called my situation a “Sticky Wicket” because I have some arthritis in my shoulder, so he will be looking for that before he proceeds, in case it’s too far gone and that surgery may not help. In which case he would abandon the idea of repair, I learn to live with it but with the aid of occasional cortisone shots until it gets bad enough to get a shoulder replacement. So we shall see. I appreciate everyone’s concern and kind thoughts.❤️

And, to GiGi, the Birthday Girl, – did you know! That Patrick Stuart AND Harrison Ford are both born on this day????? You are in good company.?
