First off, shout-out to BoxiYogi for a thoughtful tip. Was it something I said?
Now, let’s cool down with this slightly immodest two-month-old elephant calf at the Dallas Zoo, splashing in a kiddie pool that’s just his size. Well, almost just his size.

Thanks to submitterators Elizabeth G. and Sharon H.
We’re going to need a bigger pool.
Glad to hear something good from Dallas these days.
That elephant is coltish– can you describe one animal by using the description of another? Well, I guess so as we are mammals…
I was just thinking I don’t usually describe elephants as “gangly” but this one kind of is..
He is! Little wiener had a leg growth spurt or something; I wonder if they ache.
Reminds me of a kitten dancing around a new toy…
He’s so new the bottoms of his feet are all pink! And he has extra skin. A cutie patootie for sure.
Aren’t they though! And also his ‘toe-nails.’ Scientists say elephants ‘listen’ through their feet. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/02/0216_060216_elephant_sound.html
And his soles are still so smooth, he has trouble gaining purchase
on the wet floor, poor baby. He does bouce back up to try again.
I love his little eyes – he looks so happy.
OMG how could anyone hurt an animal like this! I couldn’t help but think of their continuing extermination. Sorry
I wish I could be there and play with him, he’s having so much fun.
Subsonic elephant giggling.
You felt it too?
😀
Such joy! Made me giggle with glee 😀
He is having soo much fun! They really need to get him a bigger pool. Such a darling!??
When I saw this, I couldn’t help but think of the “adorable testicles” discussion in the Is This the Elephant Ride? – mentioned in the You may also enjoy: section.
No doubt about it: Baby boy elephants need to put on some (wait for it) trunks.
That flashed into my mind, too.?
Yous guyyyyyssssss 😀 😀
