You Said I Could Drive!

It’s not fair! I’m almost a year old (in dog years) and I can kind of see over the steering wheel and if you work the pedals there shouldn’t be a problem and you totally promised you would let me drive and it’s not faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair!

Sender-inner Carol H. adds her two cents: “Little puppy Napoleon is having a fit, dare I say… NAPOLEON COMPLEX (see what I did there?) because he can’t sit in his foster mom’s lap while she is driving. Doesn’t she know who she’s dealing with? Also, his eyebrow dot game is so on point!” Via Mashable.

How could anyone say no to that adorable face, and the precious wimper, and the little tongue, and the stubby legs, and cute floppy ears, and, and, AND…..

      His voice! The leetle tongue!
Somebody pull her over so I
      can confiscate this morsel
      for myself!

Not to be a nuffer, but I pray I’m not approaching this puppy mom in the oncoming lane as she’s filming this cuteness… There’s a time and a place for cute, ladies and gentlemen!

Good point (and welcome, new user, great to have you!). I can’t even tell if the car’s moving, but if it is, mom should be watching the road.

Now see, I just assumed there was someone in the back seat holding his/her phone between the front seats OR that the car’s not even moving yet. All you hear is pup, no motor etc.

It’s exactly how I sound when I’m reaching for the Oreo’s and can’t quite make it.

      Ha!

When she says “Youre so bad” my thought was, “B%#ch”.He’s a lonely, very young puppy who is in unfamiliar situation.Glad it is only a foster situation.

I doubt she meant it in a bad way, it’s just talk. But I love that pup and if I could have him I would! I love how he side-eyes to see if his little ruse is having any effect.

    • 6rabbits July 15, 2016 / 7:06 pm

I don’t think she meant it in a bad way at all! She’s teasing him because he’s fussing for something. I don’t think he looks in distress for real, it’s that “please let me up on the couch even tho I’m not supposed to I know you love me puleeeeeze” kind of doggie appeal to humans mushy hearts!

    • Duckie July 15, 2016 / 10:31 pm

I don’t think she was being mean. Her voice sounded affectionate, not scolding. And puppers could be being fostered for a worker dog job. It’s probably best that he not get accustomed to sitting on a vehicle driver’s lap.

Everything I’ve read about dog/human communication suggests that HOW a human says something is significantly more important than WHAT is said. So, if I tell my dog that he is a “bad boy” but say it in soothing tones, he will think he is a “good boy”. The opposite is also true.

Regardless, I’m pretty sure that my Chico ALWAYS thinks he is a “good boy”.

I would never get anywhere. I’d just sit there in the driveway and cuddle him.

    • Murray C. July 15, 2016 / 5:41 pm

You and me both. He’s just about the most darling dog!! I can hardly contain myself.

      • allein July 15, 2016 / 5:48 pm

Though I’d also be tempted to let him fuss for a bit, too. The tongue and the sound effects are too cute.

        • Faye July 15, 2016 / 5:51 pm

          Me too.

  7. 6rabbits July 15, 2016 / 6:55 pm

OMG!! I would have to stop the car and hold him!! He is breaking my heart!!?

  8. amyliz July 15, 2016 / 6:59 pm

I would be a failure as a foster mom to this little goober because I would cave and spoil him rotten, making him unadoptable and then I would have no choice but to keep him!??

    • allein ? July 15, 2016 / 8:29 pm

      That would be tragic.

      • Murray C. July 15, 2016 / 9:21 pm

        And so much fun.

  9. Julie July 15, 2016 / 7:33 pm

I would let this puppy drive. Then, when we got pulled over, I would tell the officer that I was “…under the influence…of CUTENESS!!”

And then I would be arrested and likely given a well deserved psych evaluation.

    • Murray C. July 15, 2016 / 9:21 pm

Well, THAT made me laugh out loud. Or, excuse me, LOL. I’m new to a lot of this.?

    • Duckie July 15, 2016 / 10:33 pm

Oooooooo! Then you could keep the puppy as a therapy dog!

That is the whiniest (and one of the most adorable) pet tantrums I’ve seen.
