    Aw, that’s so sweet!

Also, I could go for some chocolate drugs right about now.

Whaddayasay we create it, patent it and split the profits which will

So cute – the look on her face is priceless.

      • Phred's Mom July 25, 2016 / 5:10 pm

Looks to me like she is clenching her teeth.
And giving him the ol’ labor room stink-eye.

    • Kar July 26, 2016 / 12:20 am

My father promised my mother that if she delivered the first child, he’d deliver the second.

      And he did.

When the adoption was finalized and my mother’s back laid her up in bed, he flew across the China Sea to pick me up and brought me back.

I’ve got the smoked herring ready to pass out to everyone just as soon as the kitten arrive!

    • Murray C. July 25, 2016 / 12:35 pm

I was coach for a friend who was at the time a single mom, so I thought of myself as the “dad” since I went to birthing classes, etc with her. I decided to give out Hershey bars – plain if a girl, with nuts if a boy.?

      • allein ? July 25, 2016 / 12:37 pm

        Ha!

        Perfect., Murray.

  3. Duckie July 25, 2016 / 11:42 am

The only chocolate drugs I could come up with were X-Lax, and that’s probably the last thing she needs right now.

    • Gigi_the cat lady July 25, 2016 / 1:07 pm

OMG! That reminds me of the time my mom ate an entire box of Ex-Lax!
We just arrived at the camping site in Wildwood NJ and my mom was talking to my aunt, she was tired and distracted and she kept eating the “chocolate”, she had the last piece in her hand went my aunt finally asked “Just how much of that stuff do you need to go?” A few hours later, let’s just say the results were explosives.

Keep us updated! I want to see the kittens.

My poor old cat Daisy is on her way out and all I can do is keep her comfortable, so I’m in urgent need of teh cute.

    • Duckie July 25, 2016 / 12:06 pm

Furry hugs and support coming your way.

      • Alice Shortcake July 25, 2016 / 12:09 pm

        Much appreciated, Duckie!

          Peaceful parting I hope. ?

    • Alison July 25, 2016 / 12:14 pm

So sorry. Bet she’s had a wonderful life with you. Hugs. ?

    • Amy July 25, 2016 / 12:30 pm

Big hugs for the both of you!

    • Murray C. July 25, 2016 / 12:30 pm

Ahhhh, so sorry! I have an elderly cat so we may be facing that at any time – or she could go on for years. She’s 17 (approx., since she appeared at our door one day) and if fairly good nick but she whines a lot and I keep wondering if she’s in pain. I hope your Daisy goes peacefully and that you can be with her.

    • Not That Mike The Other Mike July 25, 2016 / 12:42 pm

Oh dear! πŸ™ Daisy was very fortunate to have someone like you to care for her.

    • Laura July 25, 2016 / 12:43 pm

I’m so sorry, Alice! It’s always hard losing a furry family member. I hope she goes peacefully, knowing she’s loved just as much as she’s known all her life with you.

    • dubravkamcvmd July 25, 2016 / 12:56 pm

So sorry. I euthanized my 22-year-old Minkette in September. She required a lot of care for the last nine months of her life but I’m very glad I did it. You won’t regret the time you spend taking care of her.

    • debg July 25, 2016 / 1:02 pm

Hugs your way, Alice. Daisy has had a great life with you, I’m sure.

    • Gigi_the cat lady July 25, 2016 / 1:40 pm

So sorry, I’ve been through the loss of a furry fiend many times. It’s hard when they leave us but the alternative would be not having them in the first place and that’s not a life I would choose to live.

    • LunaChickFringe July 25, 2016 / 2:37 pm

BIG SQUISHY HUGS to you and soft gentle pets to your Daisy. They can never be with us long enough…

    • Phred's Mom July 25, 2016 / 5:15 pm

Hugs to you and gentle strokes for Daisy.
You will miss her. She knows you love her.

    • Starfish July 25, 2016 / 6:01 pm

Sending all the hugs. Losing a loved one is the worst feeling in the world, human or animal.

    • Jan July 25, 2016 / 10:03 pm

So sorry to hear that. πŸ™

I lost one recently and I know the devastation. Just keep reminding yourself that you gave her a good life and that she will will be finally pain free.

    • Kar July 26, 2016 / 12:06 am

Best wishes for you and Daisy. I hope that she’s comfortable and at ease. Its hard but I’m glad she has you.

    • fkaWaldenPond July 26, 2016 / 12:21 am

Ohh Alice, how about some whammy, through the airwaves strength and calm to you and Daisy. She is a lucky little flower to have you and your love. May the night be gentle.

    • beemoused July 26, 2016 / 6:55 am

All my prayers that she has a peaceful passing and you find comfort.

      • Alice Shortcake July 26, 2016 / 2:11 pm

Thanks, all of you. She’s still with me but is very weak, but at least she isn’t in pain. She’s 16 – I got her from Cats Protection (a no-kill rehoming organization) when she was 4, the best Β£30 I ever spent!

    • Murray C. July 28, 2016 / 2:45 pm

Alice, what’s happening with you? Concerned about how you’re holding up.

  5. debg July 25, 2016 / 1:03 pm

It’s like watching kitty-cams on Livestream. We all kept wondering when *ahem* certain mamas were going to give birth.

  6. Clairdelune July 25, 2016 / 1:11 pm

I would also love to see the kittens! With a chocolate Dad and a vanilla Mom, the babies are bound to be adorable…

And to all commenters who have lost/are contemplating the loss of a beloved furry friend, I hear you… I buried two over the years, and still miss them.

    • Phred's Mom July 25, 2016 / 5:18 pm

Me, too, Clair. Bruce, Phred ,and Ben were great friends,
each unique and valued. I still miss them.

      • Clairdelune July 26, 2016 / 11:08 am

Mine are buried in the backyard, one under a flowering bush and one in a grass patch by the house. I say hello every morning and hope they enjoy the birds and critters that visit the backyard every day. Silly, perhaps, but …….

        • Murray C. July 26, 2016 / 12:19 pm

We have 7 rabbits planted all over our garden. They often passed in winter when we couldn’t dig, so I’d keep them in the chest freezer in the basement. Then we have a little funeral after my husband digs a perfect 3’deep grave – I swear, you could take a plumb bob to it. I, too, say hello to them when I’m in that part of the garden. I miss them all.

  7. Duckie July 25, 2016 / 5:47 pm

The Rainbow Bridge is still there…

  8. Starfish July 25, 2016 / 5:58 pm

All that coffee and he probably still passes out during the delivery… while holding the camera.

    • Duckie July 25, 2016 / 6:15 pm

Or misses the delivery entirely because he had to use the litter box…

      • Murray C. July 26, 2016 / 12:22 pm

        ?

Referring back to a previous post of mine, when I was coach for my friend, she ended up having a C-section. I was suited up in a big paper haz-mat sort of suit and paper booties and stayed with her during the whole procedure. Then I squirreled the suit away in the attic – until the boy’s 21st birthday, when I retrieved the suit and took it to his birthday party and everyone signed it. A plan that actually came to fruition!

        • Phred's Mom July 26, 2016 / 1:42 pm

          Wow, what a good friend!
Talk about having one’s back, or, um,
          something. What was son’s reaction?
She was fortunate to have you, Murray.

          • Murray C. July 26, 2016 / 2:22 pm

“Something”? You’re not running for office, are you????

The son is a friend and a wonderful young man, and he and his friends loved that I had managed to keep this thing for so long – and actually found it when the time came. His Mom introduced me to my husband and was my matron of honor at our wedding (we were early 40’s when we wed.)

        • Kar July 26, 2016 / 6:35 pm

That was such a good idea.

I bet Mom was in tears, partly from the laughter.

          • Murray C. July 26, 2016 / 10:02 pm

I don’t remember tears, only laughing and a few incredulous comments. Oh, and “Where are the markers?”

  9. Sumo-Mermaid July 26, 2016 / 3:53 pm

I keep coming to this post to see if it’s kittens yet – hoping to see the babies. Where is my brain!

    • allein ? July 26, 2016 / 4:04 pm

lol…I just went to the imgur page in hopes there would be a follow up, but no. πŸ™
