Big Dog in the Big City

Artist and photographer Mitch Boyer has the perfect pet for the mean streets of New York city: A six-foot tall dachshund named Vivian. Of course, Vivian is only that big in Boyer’s imagination, so he created a set of strikingly realistic images to give her the stature she deserves, and soon she’ll star in a children’s book titled Vivian the Dog Moves to Brooklyn.

I use ” and if you believe this, I have a bridge to sell you” all the time but most people here in Québec have no idea what it means, which make it even funnier LOL!!

P.S. Adorable puppy, and she looks so very elegant.

By the way, click the first link in the paragraph to see more photos from the book, and a couple of time-lapse images showing how the photos were composed.

What an awesome idea! I was all ready to donate to the campaign only to read it’s already funded and the book is in production! So now I anxiously await the book! Vivian is so cute! Can’t wait to see who “Lulu” is.?

Somehow I’m now dreaming of riding a dachshund…

My husband likes to tell the tale of how his first “horse” as a child was actually a big dog his dad had. But I don’t think it was a dachsund. He may have been a small kid, but he wasn’t *that* small!

This is really creative photography! He does a great job of seamlessly blending the photos together so they honestly look genuine. I love it when people play cool games with our minds like this!

My aunt and uncle had a German Shepherd Dog when I was a kid. I probably could have ridden her. She was probably the only ‘big dog’ I wasn’t at least a little bit afraid of.

    Wow, who’s a big girl?!

As far as size goes, though, Clifford still has her beat by a long shot…
