Gold Medal Mom

Olympic swimming champions aren’t just born, they’re made. That’s true in the otter world as well, as otter moms sometimes need to drag their little ones into the water for swimming lessons. But the pup learns quickly and soon becomes mama’s little champion.

Actually snorted out loud with that video, thank god I wasn’t drinking my coffee. Mom dragging pup into water just killed me – But Mom I don’t wannna go swimming! Get back here, you’re going into the water no matter what. Reminds me of my little dog when I give him a bath, he tries to get out a few times then you can see the resignation, ok, just get it over with, I’ll just stand here and put up with it, sigh.

What killed me was the very human-like Mom hugging the baby and licking his head when he appeared most distressed about the swimming lesson. I was smiling and tearing up at the same time. Seeing that really makes me feel the weight of human cruelty toward animals – citizens of Cutetropolis excepted, of course. 🙂

So many good feelings in this video! Just cracked up when pup gets right back out of water–nope, nope, not today mom! And mom tugging on foot, and ears!, and shoving him under water every time he tries to make a break for it ??? He looks a little dazed there at the end! Can hear him back at the homestead–“No, I’m serious, Bro! Mom tried to DROWN me! Call CPS!” I will need to rewatch this elebinty-billion times!
