The Miracle of Squirrelvision!

When film crews need footage of places too small for humans, they call on the professionals of the International Brotherhood of Squirrel Movie Action Lens Lifters (I.B.S.M.A.L.L.) to get that perfect shot on the first take.

They’ll get lots of overtime if Marvel makesย a Squirrel Girl movie, AM.

Wonderful video, I really had the feeling of running trough the trees!

    • Smartypants August 11, 2016 / 4:16 pm

Yes, when the camera is plunging through the leaves and going to the very tips of the branches, where we could never go…very cool!

…And then he discovers it’s not good to eat…pleh!…and it hits the ground. LOL.

That was fantastic. I especially loved little squirrelly fingers and faces covering the lens.

And if I’m not mistaken we were looking up his nose for a bit. I wonder how he kept hold of the camera as he leapt about. I love squirrels – I know they can be a pain, especially if they get in your house – I know that from personal experience. But they are so bright and entertaining.

I love squirrels too. Best free entertainment. They really work every aspect of the overlapping human/squirrel environment give birds a run for their money. Or seeds as it were.

I broadcast seeds and peanuts in our garden – that way every critter gets an opportunity to get something and they have to work a little bit for it. And occasionally a squirrel buries a peanut and I get a plant that, when I lift it out of the ground, has made lots more peanuts which I then feed the squirrels.

We need to give GoPros to animals more often! Wonder what made squirrlio decide to take it? Ransom?

Wasn’t there a post on CuteOverload where a photographer’s GoPro got nabbed by a bird, who then flew away and then dropped it?

GoPro often posts videos of critters playing with their cameras. They’re delightful.

Here’s a video of a pelican with a GoPro on its beak, learning to fly after a traumatic experience:

Thanks Mike – I love the human at the beginning, running and flapping!

But this is probably the video you’re referring to, from http://cuteoverload.com/2011/06/28/name-that-movie/

Hilarious!!! I love the caterwauling – birder-wauling? How did they ever find the GoPro I wonder.

          • murkle46 August 12, 2016 / 1:41 am

The photographer had attached a GPS to the camera. It was done as commision work for GoPro.

Even the seagull one? I assumed the pelican video was organized, but the seagull appeared to be more off the cuff.

Alas, I knew I probably wouldn’t be able to watch this. A few seconds into viewing, I realized, I would need my motion sick pills. The view of running through the leaves, jumping onto the branches, from a sqwerls view point, had to be interesting.

    • Murray C. August 11, 2016 / 7:58 pm

Poor Luv Bunny – you’ve got the dizzies worse than I do! It’s really sort of a disability, isn’t it, keeps you from doing all sorts of fun things.?

  8. Luv Bunny August 11, 2016 / 8:19 pm

Murray C., it does keep me from enjoying many things, or be medicated, not always fun. Reading others’ comments helps me “see” through their words, so keep it up, commenters.

Hello fellow Cutagolians! Simon Biles, Alexandra Raisman and Ellie Black are so far my heros today; Penny Oleksiak, oh dear young woman, can you cap it off?! Go girl, goooooooooo! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

I got to see Aly and Simone do vault and bars, but I was at my friend’s dad’s for her daughter’s birthday so it was a little chaotic and I couldn’t actually hear the TV. Aliya Mustafina was in the middle of her bar routine when I left, and by the time I got home (less than ten minutes) they had switched to swimming, so I guess I didn’t miss too much (besides, you know, everything they don’t show in the prime time broadcast).

      • fkaWaldenPond August 11, 2016 / 10:17 pm

Oh. my. goodness., CBC just called. it. wrong. *ohhhhh maann, someone is not getting their bonus* So the race was going down between Phelps and Lochte anddd the commentators mixed them up and well Lochte won?! ! Whoops, no he didn’t.
Ahhh, long days over there, it’s ok. So! congratulations to Phelps!

        • allein ? August 11, 2016 / 10:31 pm

Ouch. The NBC reporter talked to Lochte afterward and he looked so disappointed.

          • fkaWaldenPond August 11, 2016 / 10:36 pm

Penny Oleksiak wooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! tied with Simone!!!!!!!!!!! This girl is 16!!!! HOLY SMOKES!

Squirrels are the most entertaining critters! I watch them taking peanuts from the pan we put out for them, then run frantically trying to find hidey-holes , run back to the pan, run looking for a hole… they can keep it up for a long time. I wonder if and how they remember where the peanuts are hidden – not too successful at retrieval, considering the number of strange plants sprouting in the lawn!!

  11. sugitomo August 12, 2016 / 7:23 am

The nostrils! The claws! Excellent cinematography! *applause*
