Wind Walkers

A belated shout-out to Elise for dropping a nice tip in the tip jar a couple of days ago, thanks very much!

We’re in the middle of a long weekend, so let’s break up the routine with a video sent in by Ricky’s Mom featuring some creations that aren’t cute but are nonetheless enchanting: Strandbeests, a set of kinetic walking sculptures.

Astounding! Eerie! Other-worldly! The music selection is PERFECT!

Oh, I’m so glad you like them, Mike and fellow Cutetropolitans! Happy Labor Day, to all who are in the US!

These are certainly amazing but I’d probably scream and run like hell if I ever happened to encounter one. There’s something very otherworldly in them, like seeing another species from outer space. Or maybe it’s just my love of science fiction…

I could imagine some of these in a sci-fi movie for sure.

TAGATHAX, they remind me of the alien sand ships in the movie version of “The Martial Chronicles”. Wonderful!

Exactly! It just struck me, I was thinking the exact same thing. I always pictured them more or less like that.

I think I saw a video of these a year or two ago, and loved them as much then, too! Their creator is obviously a genius. I just love creative people who can come up with things like this. Imagination is such a powerful thing, especially when it’s made into reality!

I saw those on a science show on TV a while ago, I think they are beautiful.
And yes TAGATHAX and STARFISH I could definitely see them in a ski-fi show or movie. Actually, they would fit right in on Dune.

    Thank you RM and NOMTOM.

I would love to see these maneuvering in real life.
