Face the Meowsic

“Sir, you will have to go outside at some point.”

“Yes, Pendleton, I know. But ever since my tweet in favor of mouse rights, the backlash over my vote on tuna tariffs, and the unfortunate tail-pulling incident, they’ve been hounding me day and night. You’d think they’d let it go, but…”

“They’re the press, sir. It’s their job, it’s what they do. Yes, they can be tenacious, but they’re also easily distracted. If you were to throw them a little something to change the subject, that might help.”

“But whatever could… Wait, I’ve got it!

NTMTOM, have you been reading P.G. Wodehouse lately? I’m getting a definite Jeeves vibe from the kitty with a hangover and this text. (Jeeves, btw, is a great name for a cat, especially a gray and white tabby that, despite bells and tags, silently slips into a room like his namesake!)

My father moved us from the city to the country when I was 4 years old, we didn’t have a farm but there were farms all around us. A neighbours would ask me every year to feed her barn cats when she went on vacation.
The cats would run out to welcome me at feeding time and escort me to the barn meowing all the way. After feeding I would sit on the floor of the barn and they would all come around for petting and scritches. ❤️?

      Jealous.
I worked in a pet store many moons ago, and each morning, while cleaning out cages, we’d let first the kittens, then the puppies, out to play. The kittens would climb all over us as we opened the cans of foods. As for the puppies, they looked very much like this group, and we invented a new dance called “the puppy shuffle”, so we didn’t step on anyone.

I played this kitty chorus for my two cats and nary a whisker moved. I thought they would at least give me a dirty look. Nope.

This article reminds me of something I read on CNN about how they are using feral cat colonies in Chicago to control the rat problem. It’s an effective and chemical free way to get rid of rats.

I love when animals and humans have a symbiotic relationship. I truly believe that my dogs are happier when they feel like they have a job to do and that they do it well. Just like humans.

He better not run out of cat food!

He’s gonna need a bigger deck.

The story says that the fellow puts down a whole bowl, I imagine he would be totally swarmed if he didn’t scatter some out as a peace offering -Or a distractionary device- first!
