Strange Bedfellows

Orphaned bunny and pigeon break down wall to cuddle together

At the Kildare Animal Foundation in Ireland, they’re never short on love and care, but sometimes they run low on incubator space. Such was the case when a newly-arrived orphaned pigeon chick had to be housed with a baby rabbit, itself an orphan just a few weeks old. The staff placed a partition to separate them, only to later discover it knocked down and the pair cuddling comfortably together.

I officially surrender to Bunday, sigh. In that second video, the squeaky chick gets the bun!

Love is just as important as warmth and food, these babies didn’t have a family so they made their own.

You are so right – glad they found each other! My eyes appear to be leaking…

Oh, yeah, leaky eye syndrome here, too. This is cute beyond reason, industrial strength, over the top, outside the box cute.

        It’s those darn onion-chopping ninjas again…

    Baby bunny butt!

No creature should be left alone with no body contact. Those babies knew just what they needed. What lovies.

So sweet! They’re the perfect little team.

LOL, poor baby pigeons (and many gorgeous birdies) really do get the short-end of the cuteness stick when they are just born. The baby looks like a ball of tangled fuzz. But the peeps, and the baby bunny going to cuddle with him is just the sweetest thing.

This is so sweet it gives my eyes cavities!

Baby bunny waffle nose, eeky squeaky baby birdie. So much soft together.
In the second video, I couldn’t help wondering if baby bunny was part fawn. Several times, I had to look twice to make sure.

Some walls are meant to be broken.

    Cute will prevail. Always.

Touching and heart-warming. Clearly, all babies need a warm, loving touch. Love the bunny’s wiggly nose in the first video.

I’m floored *WHAM* Taken down my teh Qte!

It’s true. Babies are salvation of the world. They don’t care about different. They just wanna be together.

If you’re not awwwing at that second video when the baby bunny jumps into the basket to comfort his pal, something’s wrong with you.

Remember the story “Are You My Mother?” Sounds like that might apply here. I’m glad the rescuers left these 2 together. They’ve found the comfort they both needed. SNIFF!!

Saw this the other day on The Dodo, but that didn’t stop me from watching it again…and again. Nor did previous exposure negate the leaky eye syndrome! That little bun scrambing into the pigeon bed…*sigh*

Ditto to all of the above. I just wanted to scoop both of them up and snuggle, snuggle, snuggle, but all I get is sniffle, sniffle, dab, dab.

Clearly, this proves that animals are smarter than humans. ?

I want to strap that yarn bed thing to my chest and wear them around so I can cuddle them both at all times!!

Do we need a Peaceable Kingdom tag? Well, maybe interspecies snorgling is the same thing.

      I like Peaceable Kingdom!
