Links: Polly Want a Sweater?

Lend an ear, me buckos, to this poor lovebird’s tale of woe. This plucky mate looks plucked thanks to a rare disease, but the crew of the S.S. Instagram knitted her these lovely sweaters, and now she’s ready to set sail. More at Ye Olde Bored Panda, thanks to Andrew Y.

Can polly spare a sweater? I’m freezin’!

Also, I should have a guinea peeg, apparently. I am partial to dogs that aren’t much bigger…

    • 6rabbits September 20, 2016 / 7:13 am

Apparently I should have a Jack Russel Terrier for my “go-go-go” lifestyle–NOT. I’m an Aries, but I have NO energy. I’m on the cusp of Pieces, and Rescue Animal fits me well, so I’m going with that!

Oh my goodnesss!! They’re all cute but those turtles – I’ve heard of synchronized swimming but never sychronized nomming.

Thanks for reminding me of TLAPD, matey!

The test worked just fine for me. I was a bit scared I should end up with a fish…

  4. Patty September 19, 2016 / 1:08 pm

I should be owning a betta fish apparently. I don’t care much for fish, to eat or to own for a pet.

    • allein ? September 19, 2016 / 1:30 pm

Fish are nice to watch but we learned early that we were not meant to be fish owners.

    • Claire September 19, 2016 / 3:50 pm

Ugh, me too. They’re often quite pretty, but not the pet (or dinner) for me. I think Sags deserve a cool pet that can go on our adventures with us!

    • Gigi the cat lady September 19, 2016 / 5:44 pm

Five fish died before my mom realized I was taking them out of the aquarium to “pet’ them. I was 3 years old at the time.

      • Madame X September 19, 2016 / 7:58 pm

Ah, Gigi, at that age I managed to drown a duckling (I still can’t bear the remorse)… Since Daffy Duck swam underwater, I assumed the tiny duck would do too…I also took him to the slide and the swingset with me. When it happened, I took it to my mom and told her the duckling was tired and had gone to sleep.

Unfortunately, it was the sleep of the dead.

You want to share a shrink? ?

  5. Murray C. September 19, 2016 / 1:10 pm

I’m a Scorpio but, really, a Border Collie? I love them but one needs space – and youth!

    • AJ September 19, 2016 / 1:20 pm

I agree! I saw that and said, really now????? I’ve had big enthusiastic dogs and no more. I just fine with my little min pin, much easier to handle (except for when he starts bouncing around at 5 am, lol)

  6. Smartypants September 19, 2016 / 1:48 pm

That birdie – what an intelligent little face! She looks like she’s smiling in every pic.

    • allein ? September 19, 2016 / 1:55 pm

      It’s a tiny dinosaur!

      • Faye September 19, 2016 / 3:51 pm

In one pic she’s near a ruler. She’s an inch wide. A pink dinosaur. I love her “ear holes”. Great personality overcomes her predicament.

According to my sign I should have a hamster but I prefer my rescue cat. ?

    • Haha September 19, 2016 / 5:11 pm

Maybe you misread and your cat is supposed to have a hamster. Burp! Excuse me.

Me, I’m supposed to have a rabbit. If I ever do, I’ll have to visit Faye.

      • Faye September 19, 2016 / 8:34 pm

I’ll chip in on the cost of travel. I’m still deprived of any and all bunny contact!

        • 6rabbits September 20, 2016 / 7:17 am

          That is just so sad?

          • Haha September 20, 2016 / 7:31 am

I do not see a rabbit companion in my near or far future. 6rabbits, know any bunnies that are up for a road trip to visit Faye?

            • 6rabbits September 20, 2016 / 9:45 pm

Haha, if I even lived half the distance closer, I’d load up Theo and take a road trip to Faye! I still cant believe there’s a place with no available rabbits! The horror!? In the meantime, Faye will have to be content with this

This is terrific. What a charming young guy – he’d get me interested in science if I were oh, 45 years younger.?

                • Haha September 20, 2016 / 10:22 pm

I do have to say that this gent has a yummy voice that I could listen to expound on a number of topics. I might get some ed-u-macation.

              • Murray C. September 20, 2016 / 10:12 pm

My heart just went “squish” – that is the most delicious bun!

              • Haha September 20, 2016 / 10:17 pm

Bunny looks sad. I understand. It is because he is not visiting Faye.

                • 6rabbits September 20, 2016 / 10:43 pm

                  ?

              • Faye September 20, 2016 / 11:46 pm

                Thank you!

    • Gigi the cat lady September 19, 2016 / 5:49 pm

I’m also supposed to have a hamster but my husband would not be happy if I had, the last one I had before we got married bit his finger to the bone!

  9. Claire September 19, 2016 / 3:53 pm

Oh my gosh, that baby fox story pulls on the heartstrings something fierce.

    • debg September 19, 2016 / 4:22 pm

Yes indeedy. I also loved the elephants with their ba-bas.

  10. Julie September 19, 2016 / 4:22 pm

Me likes the boid something fierce.

  11. Gigi the cat lady September 19, 2016 / 5:56 pm

I love Rhea, she looks like a mini raptor.

    • michael September 20, 2016 / 8:13 am

For some reason, Rhea reminds me of a little old lady.

I would just like to step in here and say that although the way this picture got cropped for the thumbnail version was accidental, I think it’s brilliant. Just trunks and bottles. 🙂 Anyway, here’s the full picture.

  13. Madame X September 19, 2016 / 8:02 pm

A Jack Russell Terrier? Really? Just looking at them makes me tired!

  14. D B September 19, 2016 / 8:25 pm

According to my sign, i should have a parrot. My birds will be thrilled.

and that lovebird looks like such a little character!

do you think that sweater’s by Vera Wing?

    • Faye September 19, 2016 / 8:36 pm

Vera Wing! Great name for a line of avian hand knits.

      • fkaWaldenPond September 19, 2016 / 9:20 pm

Yar, a truer statement, nevr spoken thar that!

  15. BB/VA September 19, 2016 / 8:44 pm

A Dinny….um… excuse me, I mean Guinea Pig. (Dinny is what our daughter called hers when she couldn’t say G very well.

  16. Clairdelune September 20, 2016 / 4:55 am

So I should have a bunny? A disapproving one? I would love to adopt one, but the cat – also known as Queen Victoria – would never allow it.
