Good News for the Phantom Hugger

Before we get to the story, a shout-out to Patricia for her support, thanks much! Now, you may recall the story of the Phantom Hugger, a young boy in Louisiana who snuck into a neighbor’s garage to hug their pet labrador Duchess.

Turns out the boy was missing his own dog who had passed away, and his mother was reluctant to get a new one. But the worldwide attention wore down her resistance, and now the boy has a new companion, a puppy named Drake.

unnamed
And he can still visit Duchess whenever he wants.

So glad to hear he now has another pupper to love. If anyone deserved this, it was this young man. He’s got enough love for BOTH doggies!!

Everyone wins! Even Mom, if the Phantom Hugger helps with cleanup, etc.

I’m so glad he got a new puppy, I can’t imagine life without pets. There was always a dog or cat or both in the house when I was growing up. Since I left home I only had cats because I didn’t want to leave a dog alone all day while I was working but since I’m going to retire soon a dog is a real possibility down the road.

I can’t imagine life without a pet, either! The closest I got was in college, when I only got to see my gerbils on break. Tried 2 different years to sneak them into the dorm!

I did manage to sneak Samson (my gerbil) into my dorm room in my last semester. Not an easy task since I attended a Military Academy. I had to get creative in hiding him from sneak inspections. All went well, except for the time my friends fitted him with his own parachute. Don’t worry I saved him from their clutches.

We need pictures, Cindy! Samson with his own parachute? I bet it was insanely adorable!

This sort of story does my heart good. If only all property trespasses were like this. Serial huggers on the loose.

I hope the two doggies get to meet up as well.

And the college kid will get to visit on the holidays. Sweet set up all around. Win. Win. Win.

I love this story. I saw it on the news earlier in the week. I love that the 6:30 ABC news usually ends with a feel-good story of some sort, because I often get home just in time for Jeopardy so I often catch only the last few minutes of the news broadcast. I like it when it’s a happy thing.

I love how the dog’s tail is a blur! Such a happy pup.
