Little-known Facts About Early Victorian Home Decor

Before the invention of carpet tacks, well-to-do English homes would secure their carpet to the stairs by means of specially trained bulldogs. British bulldogs, well known for their stubborn, tenacious nature and resemblance to Winston Churchill, who had not been born yet, were trained from birth to stay in one spot and keep the carpet from coming loose.

So let’s see … from top to bottom we have:

    1. Algernon (Algy)
    2. Archibald (Archie)
    3. Ethelbert (Bertie)
    4. Montmorency (Monty)
    5. Reginald (Reggie)
    and
    6. Jack (Throat-Warbler Mangrove)

I’ve always wondered who babies looked like before Winston Churchill was born.

Aaaahhh, we cover insurance wise a lot of collectible and antique cars; so we have women clients who drive some pretty cool automobiles. I hope you have a good day Faye!
