    STELLAAA!

    • DebG January 6, 2017 / 10:27 am

First thing I thought of too! What a gorgeous little heffalump.

      • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 10:27 am

        It had to be done.

  2. allein ? January 6, 2017 / 8:53 am

Maru slept in a frog bed.
He avoided this in a childhood.

His childhood? Or someone else’s? 😛

I’m thinking by the last picture Hana was regretting joining Maru in the bed.

Bunny story has melted me into a puddle of goo. Good thing it’s Friday.

    __________
Furkids ad has me cracking up at my desk. The “Angel” parody at the end is priceless. (I would like to try out one of those new things they mentioned…”dog,” was it? Sounds interesting. Who says advertising doesn’t work?)

    __________
    Okay, I’m done. For now.

Allein, I’m starting to think we share the same brain in separate bodies. I too loved the bunny story and nearly choked at the Furkids commercial.

      • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 10:33 am

That would explain all those times when my brain seems to be absent…

        • Faye January 6, 2017 / 3:23 pm

Roflol. Hmmm I wonder where my brain goes? See anyone else occasionally buying fudge brownie ice cream for dinner? Let me know who she is.

          • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 3:25 pm

I had mint chocolate chip last night…

            • Murray C. January 6, 2017 / 3:29 pm

Mmmm, so did I. I buy little tiny waffle cones (I may have said this before – forgive me) and I have a tiny scoop and I make myself what I call an “American Girl” ice cream cone – basically an hors d’oeuvre size. Perfect little mouthful.

              • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 3:33 pm

My bowl was a tad bit bigger than that…

Furkids ad: I realized this was genius-level work when I saw the lady pretending to be an inflatable “dancing man” effect.

    • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 9:18 am

I totally missed that. Had to watch again. Darnit.

My other favorite line was “2016 models are compatible with Windows” 😀

        • Joy January 6, 2017 / 9:54 am

My apologies Mike for sending a repeat of Furkids link this morning, I should have known that the denizens of Cutetropolis would have beat me to the punch.

          • Murray C. January 6, 2017 / 3:08 pm

I thought I had sent it! But apparently I forgot – too busy laughing at it, I guess. Nice to see it again – and now yet again – I missed the lady, too.

      • Brouhaha January 6, 2017 / 10:53 am

That was my favorite! But I did really like the “inflatable dancing” girl. *Snort!*

    • Smartypants January 6, 2017 / 9:54 am

Yes, I love the ‘dancing man’! (Allein, it’s toward the beginning – woman in pink shirt). Also the high-fiving cat.

      • fkaWaldenPond January 6, 2017 / 9:57 am

That’s what had me cracking up too! I am going to borrow that technique.

    • DebG January 6, 2017 / 10:28 am

Yep. It took me a second to catch on, and then I couldn’t stop guffawing.

    • Birdcage January 6, 2017 / 12:30 pm

I didn’t connect that her crazy sleeve dancing was the inflatable dancing man effect – I had to go back and watch it again. Cool. The lead guy kinda sounds like Vince of Slapchop fame.

    • 6rabbits January 6, 2017 / 12:45 pm

The inflatable imitation is priceless! But the whole commercial cracked me up! ? It’s a good thing they weren’t advertsing bunnies or I’d be in trouble!

The bunny story is adorbs. ? I read it yesterday at The Dodo, and was compelled to go to their instagram site–where I spent waaaay too much time looking at prosh bun pics! I have NEVER seen English Lops at a shelter and they had 3!? Those bunnies look so chill! I am down to one rabbit now (my last foster bun passed away early Christmas morning) and I don’t really want another one, but when I read stories like this I wonder if I’m depriving Theo of a great bun relationship. *sigh*

      • DebG January 6, 2017 / 3:24 pm

6rabbits, you have to get more bunnies so you don’t have to change your name.

        So sorry about foster bun.

        • 6rabbits January 6, 2017 / 4:11 pm

When I first made my avatar–for Cute Overload!–I had just six rabbits. In the years since then I’ve been over and under that number. I decided just to stick with “6” cos changing it everytime my number of buns changed was silly.? My new condo isn’t big enough for more than 2 buns–my old house had a HUGE basement and half of it was “The Bunny Barn”! Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or energy that I used to, either. *sigh* Thusly my pledge of no more new bunnies.?

          • Murray C. January 6, 2017 / 4:53 pm

The most I ever had was a bonded threesome and after that I never had more than two. These will be my last two I think because we will be downsizing and I doubt rabbits would be welcome in most places and I find it harder to deal with all their needs. One has to be so instantaneous with buns when things happen to them. Sad to think about a bunny-less future – I hope to have a cat or even a dog – that would get me out of the house!

    • Murray C. January 6, 2017 / 3:10 pm

I wasn’t sure what you meant by “Dancing Man” but once I saw her I realized what you meant – that is REALLY funny! Besides that and the windows bit I liked the self cleaning – and cleaning and cleaning….

  5. Gigi the cat lady January 6, 2017 / 9:27 am

If I saw a llama walking in the middle of the road while I was driving, I think I would literally loose my mind!
    ——
I love that the mom of the new Disney baby elephant became pregnant through “natural breeding” (yeah mama got some ?) and not artificial insemination. I think it shows that she’s happy and feels safe, especially since it’s not her first.
    —–
The bunny story is pretty much my story except with cats, get one first and then get another one as a companion for the first one and so on and so on ….

And Furkids ad = best commercial EVER!

    • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 9:41 am

My favorite part was taking the bunny to the shelter to pick out a friend for herself.

  6. Emmberrann January 6, 2017 / 9:33 am

    BRILLIANT! *wiping lafftears*

  7. Dana January 6, 2017 / 10:44 am

Love, love, love the bunny story! And, the clever kitty komercial (“self-cleaning kitties….!). And, Maru in a frog bed! I’m overwhelmed by cuteness.

  8. Not That Mike The Other Mike January 6, 2017 / 12:59 pm

Just wanted to note that Murray C. also sent me the Furkids video. That was a very popular video and it’s all over the Intarwebses now, so I’d say Furkids got a lot of bang for virtually no buck.

  9. Patty January 6, 2017 / 1:12 pm

Hilarious commercial! I loved the “Arms of an Angel” song at the end.
The bunny story is so much my brother. His step-daughter had a bunny, when she had to move she couldn’t take it with her, so my SIL adopted it, her daycare kids loved it. She decided it needed a friend, so she adopted another bunny. She eventually wound up with 2 others she got off of a buy/sell/trade facebook page. The cages were too small, so she built a huge house in the backyard for them. It’s insulated, has separate “rooms” for them, and it’s big enough we can walk around in it. Then suddenly there were baby bunnies. Mom and babies were moved inside the people house, and my brother’s facebook statuses changed from “My grandkids!” to “Look at this adorable bunny!” “baby bunnies are so sweet!” “my grandkids love the bunnies”

  10. Emsthemonster January 6, 2017 / 1:19 pm

    I loved the commercial.

Iam also wondering how many kitties Iam hosting tonight. We have quite a cold spell here, there is going to be around -20 C for the next few nights, which is quite unusual here. Most people don’t let their cats in the house, so I have prepared some food and hiding spots for the cats of the neighbourhood. I have put baskets full of old clothes/quilts etc into our unused shed and barn where the cats can get in and find shelter from the 50 km/hour wind.
(My kitties sleep in our basement where there is heating)

    • 6rabbits January 6, 2017 / 2:14 pm

      God Bless you!?

      • DebG January 6, 2017 / 3:26 pm

Exactly. How can people leave their pets outside in cold weather? I had a neighbor once whose cat used to sneak into my house. One morning, I saw a black cat curled up on my sofa and nearly fainted, because my beloved black boy had died a few years ago.

        • Murray C. January 6, 2017 / 3:32 pm

Did you keep him? We had an enormous black cat with us for a few days – I found him outside on a 3 degree morning drinking from our heated birdbath (warm bird soup!) and we made him a bed and fed him, gradually brought him inside, much to the annoyance of our cat. I was on the verge of having him neutered when I realized he lived across the street – a very busy street. We’ve never seen him again, sadly.

        • allein ? January 6, 2017 / 3:38 pm

This is how we got our first cat, because of cold weather. He showed up in the driveway one morning and wouldn’t leave. After a couple days they were predicting snow, so my mom put a box on the porch with some old towels in it for him. Then some days later she let him into the house. Eventually she took him to the vet and he became an indoor/outdoor cat (went from not being allowed in the house when no one was home, to not being allowed out of the house when no one was home; we kept the garage door open a few inches so he could always get in there if he wanted). Someone must have owned him – he was fixed and healthy and clearly used to being around people – but no one claimed him when she put out a lost cat ad (a couple people called and said they’d take him if she didn’t find the owner, but by then she’d spent 100 bucks at the vet and by golly, she was keeping him!).

(We later found out that we weren’t the only ones he mooched off of. He’d come home some days and wouldn’t eat, and my mom mentioned it to the woman next door, and learned that he’d been visiting her cats at her side door and her son-in-law had been feeding him. Smart kitty.)

        • 6rabbits January 6, 2017 / 3:54 pm

My worst pet-neglect story: Next door sub-human refused to bring his young puppies into the house when the winter temps came and found the mother and father dogs barely alive, curled on top of the frozen puppies in the morning. They’d moved up against the back of the house to try and stay warm. (Their “dog house” was a tiny lean-to in the middle of the yard.) He was very angry cos he planned on selling the puppies. The son’s bunny was kept outside also, in inadequate shelter, and froze to death soon after. This was in the mid-eighties when nobody prosecuted stuff like that, even though a family member reported him. His response to the death of the rabbit was to buy his son a kitty, who was limited to the screened-in front porch. The kitty survived the winter, but escaped in the spring, and I’m sure he was better off. I was just out of college, and very glad to move soon after.

        • Emsthemonster January 6, 2017 / 4:14 pm

One of our neighbours poisoned a lot of cats, including 2 of ours. When the guy died last year, somehow I did not shed bitter tears.

  11. Emsthemonster January 6, 2017 / 2:42 pm

Glory emoji 🙂 Thank you 🙂

  12. Starfish January 6, 2017 / 5:05 pm

    “Watcha need, fam?”

    “I need about three kitty.”

    Utter brilliance.
