Whoa, So That’s a School…

“Yep, Becky Fuzzbottom says that Becky’s mom’s best friend says that only the really special bears get to go there. They get free food and they get to play with toys and learn how to be really smart and stuff. Bet it’s really cool. But you have to wear clothes or they won’t let you in.”

“Well, maybe we could sneak in when nobody’s looking.”

“What, are you suicidal? Those are M2 Browning machine guns in each of those guard towers! Plus they have men with Uzis walking the perimeter, snipers in the trees, and the entire field between here and the complex is full of land mines. Someone is really serious about keeping us out of that place.”

You could even say they’re (wait for it) loaded for bear.

Who would ever have thought that political commentary could be so adorable?

Anything is possible in Cutetropolis, Allein. And thank heaven (and Mike!) for that. 🙂

Mike, I really hope that you’re going to excel yourself tomorrow. We’re going to need all the cuteness and hilarity we can get to stave off soul-crushing despair.

I love that bears usually have 2 cubs at a time. I know that the reason is not “rainbows and unicorns” (species perpetuation in case one dies) but I love the idea of having a playmate / constant companion in the early years.

I did see yearling grizzly triplets with their mom in Denali National Park. The guide said she must be an exceptional mother to have all three survive in good shape.

I don’t think there’s a pun in this post either, at least none that I intended.

Bahaaha! I nearly spit my coffee all over my desk! Too cute, and true!

Now this story took a turn I wasn’t expecting!

On the sad side, I can certainly see some school boards deciding that it might be a good idea to increase security to this extent to keep out undesirable elements, however that board defines undesirable. Whatever happened to everyone deserves an education, at least until they are 16 (or is it 14 now?)

On the happier side, those two cubs are adorable and it does indeed look like they are seeing something very interesting off in the distance. Great story, Mike!

As for the “pun”, “Loaded for bear” is an old phrase that started out meaning that you had enough fire power/the right kind of bullets if you encountered a bear in the woods. It has morphed into meaning that you are prepared to face almost any dangerous situation.

Thanks for explaining the pun, Belphebe.

One of the school districts near me has instituted a system where certain teachers carry guns on them in case of an emergency. I live in a strongly pro-gun state, so I was not surprised by this.

I’m a teacher and this scares me much more than a possible shooting happening.

NOMTOM, I love you every day, but today I love X times infinity. Thank you SO much for the laughs! I almost wet myself.
