Links: You Saved Our Bacon!

And finally: Mock Crocs Gawk at Jaw Lock

In this video sent by ffleur2, a film crew gets up close and personal with mama crocodile by planting animatronic babies with camera eyes right in her nest. What they see is amazing.

I loved how gentle the mom was and those the little tails poking out between the mom’s teeth killed me.

That crocodile video is incredible and those baby crocodile cameras are amazing!

And having David Tennant narrate is the cherry on top.

It’s like a bucket brigade of piglets!

Psychedelic squid is far out, man!

So they went russian’ into danger to save the piglets…?

Yes, I love the bucket brigade too. Thank you, firefighters!

(Sorry, it was the best I could come up with.)

Firefighters are heros with a hard job. I love seeing the picture of the one getting a reward of the giggles carrying an armload of pigs.

    **NOT CUTE (BUT TRUE) WARNING**

That “You saved our bacon” headline is quite accurate. Years ago a barn right across the street from my uncle’s house burned down; those pigs were unfortunately not rescued. According to one of my cousins, it did indeed smell like bacon.

The terrified squealing broke my heart. 🙁

But the happy grunting once they were safe helped a lot.

Transparent animals for the win! Loved these guys, especially the glasswing butterfly and transparent ants. Those ants are an art project waiting to happen.

I can’t bear to watch scared piggies, so thank you all for describing their happy grunts.

All these links are full of win. Macropinna Microstoma especially tickles me, for some reason.
