Deep Thoughts

(Should I tell them? It’s peaceful and calm in this bag, and I really enjoy having time to myself, but on the other hand, the humans are calling for me and they sound worried. Should I tell them I’m in here, or would that be, um… like releasing a secret… from inside of its… um… container thingie?)

(I’ll bet there’s a more clever way to put that.)

This kitty looks like my Stars…except she’d be afraid of the bag.

My kitty looooves paper bags. She had a large Panera Bread bag for close to a year for her own use. She also enjoys a good Chipotle bag.

Plastic bags however, are the devil.

Stars got the handle of a plastic bag caught around her neck once, and she bolted, so of course it followed her…now if you come in the house with a plastic bag in your hand and try to say hi to her before putting it down she will cower if not run away. I think that’s also why she’s afraid of balloons, because I don’t think she’s ever had any direct experience with a balloon, but I suppose to a little kitty it looks much like a floating plastic bag.

Sunny has had a paper bag handle around her neck, and she ran around at top speed to get it off, which of course it didn’t. So, I helped her out of it.

She crawled back in the bag right away.

Plastic bags are only scary when you snap them, to open them up.
She is also afraid of balloons. They are menacing in their quiet hovering.

They are menacing in their quiet hovering.

That could also be it. When my mom realized it, the balloon had been tied to my dad’s chair for about three days, just quietly floating, and she had to pass it to get to the basement where the litter box is.

Opening Pandora’s box? or bag in this case.

“…something about a cat, maybe? and a bag? I don’t know, it’s just not coming to me.”

My kitties have actually totally loved balloons. Big Mylar ones that stay floaty for awhile. If you make sure the ribbon touches the floor or close to it then it’s actually the ultimate, ribbon that plays back with you!

See, that’s how I was thinking she’d interpret the balloon – the string did hang to the floor. Instead, she sat at attention on the back of the couch, keeping a wary eye on the floaty thing that sometimes moved a little on it’s own, but not in a fun “I’m-escaping-you-chase-me!” kinda way.

I tried to entice her by offering the string, but the fact that it was attached to the floaty thing was a deal breaker.

    Beautiful cat in the pic.

My dear kitties are totally offended now. They are just looking at me asking “why did you do this to us?” They were at the vet’s today and got neutered. They are still a bit wobbly.

I was cat tending, my daughter’s cats and had a list of “If you have time, could you do this for me” chores. Administering flea treatment was one of them. Tubby (his official name is Charlie, but he won’t answer to that) hates flea treatment. He was still hissing at me and running away on the 3rd day after the treatment. He may forgive me eventually.

Tubby is special. He suffered a fractured skull as a 6 wk old kitten, and has been strange ever since. He was running across the room and ran under my husband’s prosthetic foot just as he stepped down. Prosthetic foot doesn’t detect kittens, so he stepped down with no attempt at correction. His metabolism seems to have been affected, as he doesn’t eat a lot, but he is rather tubby. He growls when he means to purr, sometimes.

    How about:
Freeing feline from flattened fiber form, folded for fetching function.
