Awww and Mini-awws

Shouts-out to Lucy’s Mom and to Amy for starting new monthly tips. Thank you both for your support. Now, brace yourselves for something even cuter than red pandas: red panda cubs, struggling to keep their balance as they follow their mom on her daily rounds.

Wow. That is a lot to handle on a Monday, Mike!

The cubs appear to be born with full adult sized ears and then must grow into them, just as puppies grow into their paws.

My head just exploded from the unbearable cuteness. Their tails are as thick and fluffy as their bodies! The waddling, the stumbling, the fluffiness….despite the risk to my health I must watch it again. Darn.

What’s cuter than a red panda? Two red Panasonic, of course. Cuter than two red pandas? Three red pandas, and if two are cubs, they get extra cute points!

    • Emmberrann April 17, 2017 / 1:58 pm

      Not “panasonic!” Pandas!

      • Smartypants April 17, 2017 / 6:45 pm

It’s their new subsidiary, Pandasonic 😀

Oh for! Somehow I had not considered the possibility of baby red pandas. I was so amazed by adult red pandas when I first saw them, the sheer improbability of their natural adorableness! Now babies!!! They waddle for Chrissake!

    • Murray C April 17, 2017 / 2:11 pm

      Don’t they just!

    • Debg April 17, 2017 / 7:05 pm

My thouhts exactly. What could be cuter than a red panda? Baby red pandas. Gaaaah.

Super Kiwaii!!! (Cute in Japanese). Gack, too cute. 4 words – ear tufts, bushy tail. I’m ded.

I think I just swallowed my tonsils on that last sharp intake of breath. Oh, my heavens, what are you trying to do to us, Mike? I kept thinking of big fuzzy caterpillars, with those tails. And the smaller of the two cubs was so funny, especially at the end when mom got her treat – s/he was sitting in a little bundle of fluffiness and I am, as we say in cute circles – ded. (plops over – my eyes two x’s)

    • Smartypants April 17, 2017 / 6:51 pm

Yes, that was my first thought too – they look like Wooly Bear caterpillars! So soft & fluffy.

  7. Laura April 17, 2017 / 2:12 pm

And the babies are slightly pigeon-toed with all four feet! Plus the ear floof and tbe *impossibly* floofy tails! Ack! The cuteness, it is lethal!

  8. Gigi the cat lady April 17, 2017 / 2:48 pm

The little one stole my heart, soooooo cute!!!!!!

  9. Alice Shortcake April 17, 2017 / 3:15 pm

Come on…the young ‘uns are obviously wearing tail extensions!

    • Doug April 17, 2017 / 3:26 pm

      *LAUGH*

I wouldn’t put it past the wonderful Japanese to create Panda Tail Extensions !

      • Smartypants April 17, 2017 / 4:59 pm

LOL, I saw on Rocketnews a few days ago that a Japanese designer just came out with a series of cat-themed bra-and-panty sets (for humans) with – you guessed it – matching ears and tails. So I’m sure a Red Panda collection is in the works!

        • Debg April 17, 2017 / 7:06 pm

Ummm, I have the kitty ears and tail set. No underwear to match, tho.

          • Doug April 18, 2017 / 9:28 am

So you wear just the ears and tail ?? Whoa .. *wink*

            • allein ? April 18, 2017 / 9:35 am

Hey now! This is a family establishment!

    • julie April 17, 2017 / 3:56 pm

      LOL!!!

They are why the British came up with the adjective “fubsy.”

    • Alice Shortcake April 18, 2017 / 3:30 am

I haven’t come across that word for over forty years and couldn’t remember where it came from. Then it came to me:

“Oppress not the cubs of the stranger, but hail them as Sister and Brother,
For though they are little and fubsy, it may be the Bear is their mother.”
      Rudyard Kipling, “The Jungle Book”

  11. Yadre April 17, 2017 / 4:54 pm

That tail is surely fluffiness overloaded. I feel my blood sugar rising. Just imagine seeing this for real.

  12. Faye April 17, 2017 / 5:24 pm

I am astounded by the cuteness. This video made my day. Besides the pandas I have come to enjoy the sound of delighted Japanese adults and children. The content is no doubt the same around the world in any language but without knowing the words there is a distinct Japanese inflection to the ooohs and awwws.

  13. tagathax April 17, 2017 / 6:36 pm

They’re so fluffy I will die!

  14. Duckie ? April 17, 2017 / 6:53 pm

Oh, come on. That’s not fair. Their legs barely reach the ground!
I have a stuffed animal raccoon that reminds me of these.

    • Debg April 17, 2017 / 7:07 pm

I have a red panda stuffie!

      How you doin’, Duckie?

      • Duckie ? April 17, 2017 / 8:31 pm

One foot in front of the other.
        “I can get through today.”
        Thanks.

        • Birdcage April 17, 2017 / 9:05 pm

Love to you, Brave Duckie!!! Thinking about you!

        • Murray C April 17, 2017 / 11:06 pm

Glad to see you posting, Duckie.

    • allein ? April 17, 2017 / 9:33 pm

lol…you made me think of the line from the movie Hot Shots:

“I just had them lengthened. Now they go all the way up.”

  15. Kar April 19, 2017 / 11:24 am

If someone could cross a red panda and fennec it would take over the world!!
