Fiona Update: Dive! Dive! Dive!

Fiona the preemie hippo continues to work on two very important hippo skills: holding her breath and navigating underwater. So Team Fiona used an underwater camera to catch all the action. (via Lois M.)

You’re humming that song from “Dumbo,” aren’t you?

But there’s more news for Fiona fans. The youngster spent some time visiting with her mother Bibi on Friday, one of many steps in preparation for Fiona’s eventual return to her mother and father. (via Sharon G.)

My mouth hurts from smiling and I wish the video could go on and on. She was frolicking! And, yes, Faye, that team does deserve an award. And I’m so happy she’s meeting her mom – she seems really ready to be with other hippos.

Me too!! If someone just watched my face, they would probably guess hallucinogenic drugs 🙂

I hope she manages to re-integrate with her hippo family!

Fiona, you are a source of joy and an inspiration to all.

Diana’s development is really moving along quickly now, isn’t it? She is having so much fun practicing her big girl skills in the pool, with her wonderful human team keeping a careful watch. Is that a great job or what, mom to a precious baby blorp?

Ack! I just realized that that evil autocorrect got me earlier and I never saw it, drat it all! Fortunately, you all know what I meant, I’m sure. And how it happened. Honestly, why do they make it SO hard to turn off that stupid autocorrect feature! On an older phone I used to be able to, but now if it’s possible I have zero clue how to do it. Grr!

It’s OK, Laura, we knew what happened and understood – I mean, my autocorrect kept making “eyesore” out of “Eeyore”! There’s a daily calendar called “Goddam You Autocorrect!” with lots of funny – and often rude – mistakes.

So lovely and soothing, watching Miss F play in her pool! I needed it today: my typical slow-start Monday suddenly got stressful and busy.

    This song from “Dumbo”?

    I love Bonnie Raitt’s version.

So beautiful, I’m inspired to write a Hippo Haiku:
    Blorp blorp blorp. Blorp blorp
Blorp, blorp blorp blorp blorp blorp.
    Blorp blorp, blorp blorp blorp.

      Exactly! Well said.

?Couldn’t have said it better myself.
