Fiona Update: Fire Blorpedo One!

Fiona is getting in deep now. The thriving preemie hippo is now swimming in up to four feet of water, staying underwater longer and propelling herself like a big blorpy torpedo. Look for an underwater roll, followed by a spirited game of tag with her caretakers.

But there’s more Fiona fun at the Cincinnati Zoo’s Fiona updates page, where you can see a replay of a live Facebook event with Fiona and her keepers last Friday.

Thanks to Fiona-watchers Lois M. and Daniel C.

I love when she rolls/flops down the slope. What a silly creature.

Is there no limit to her cuteness?

Baby Fiona isn’t such a baby anymore. She’s in the deep end of the pool, and she’s getting sooooo big!

I love watching Fiona grow and play. She couldn’t have done better (if she had to be a preemie) than to be born at the Cincinnati Zoo. Go, Fiona!

I confess, as I’m watching all these amazing Fiona videos, part of me is thinking: “And they PAY those people–like, a salary, actual money–to take care of Fiona! Curse you, Mathematics, for ruining my (long ago) career dreams!”

I hear you, Liz. Every time I watch videos of caretakers like this I’m jealous.
