Actually, a few of the pix of baby hippos were of Fiona. But I agree that baby hippos make everything better.

Pastina and Penne are fabulous names for the baby pigeons.

Yay for kitten rescuers and tortoise walkers.

And bless those cops. I think I’ve imprinted on one of them; maybe both.

What Ricky’s Mom said–I so desperately needed baby hippos today, and kitten rescues, and a tortoise in a crocheted tortoise-cozy.

    Police Escort ! .. oh ya ..

(Early in the video, officers tells the duck popperatzi to back off — hehe)

The picture of the hippo family, Mom, Dad, and two babies was just beautiful. They seemed so happy.

I was at the park the other day and there were baby ducks! They were on the other side of a fence and too far away to get any pictures, but they were cute.

What kind of monster would drop a kitten in a collection bin? I’m so happy the little girl heard the kitten and that her family decided to adopt him.

Yes, and the little girl’s plan to have her parents dangle her inside the bin with a net…! What a great kid.

How much can you get for a kitten and kid from the Charity Store once you ‘drop’ them in the bin ?

I just came from my vet’s office to pick up a script for hydrocodon (it relieves my furball of about 80% of her coughing due to a collapsing trachea) and she told me that people have actually harmed their pets in order to get access to their painkillers. I said that those people should be executed but hey, what do I know?! There is no shortage of monsters in this world. We just need to remember that for every monster there are 100 or 1000 or 10,000 good people.

Loved the police escort! Way to go guys!

Maybe we can send them to whomever abandoned those kitties for a lesson or two.

Make Way for Ducklings has always been one of my favourite books.

Such wonderful links today. If I lived back in NYC, I would be front of line to walk Henry – what an awesome summer gig. And both the cops and the guy in Hong Kong need to be nominated for Cutetropolis Men of the Year Awards plus we need a special kids section for that little girl who was ready to be lowered in the bin to rescue a kitty. You go girl!! That kitty in the bin reminds of one of my favorite rescue cats: Dewey who was dropped into a library return chute IN WINTER!!!! If you haven’t read the books about him, you really should. Very sweet and of course, kitty is just adorbs. Here’s an link for more info: http://www.deweyreadmorebooks.com.
