We’re All Part of the Fold

The natural world, in all of its beauty and terror, exists in a delicate balance. When that balance is upset, the losses aren’t just on paper. That’s the message of this powerful short film from directors Dávid Ringeisen & László Ruska and presented by the National Geographic and World Wildlife Fund.

This is so cool– btw re NG– has anyone heard, done this? https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/about/

As a birthday gift to myself I sent away for the kit over the weekend. I am hoping it will be all said and done by the end of July when my birthday actually occurs. I am really excited– I am hoping for a lot of Neanderthal dna!

Interesting but I just sent my Ancestry DNA test last week, I don’t expect any surprises I’m just an average white woman.
I did it because I’ve been watching Long Lost Family on TLC and they show how adoptees use Ancestry DNA to find their relatives so I did it in case my older sister that was given up for adoption before my parents were married is looking for her family.

Exquisite. What computers were made for: augmenting human mind and creativity.

Yay, nice to see something spectacular coming from my country. (normally we can display only stupid politicians, so it is nice to see something ‘good’ for a change)

You’re Hungarian, Ems? Are you living in Hungary or somewhere else? Or are you just descended from Hungarians? I love how international the internet makes us all!

Just like it makes showing all this amazing art — we can see things from all over, and the world truly is a smaller place as a result.

Yes, I am Hungarian and I live in Hungary. Well I also have some German ancestry from my father’s side, but I grew up in Hungary and consider myself a 100% Hungarian. German is my second foreign language only.

Yes, that’s where I learnt from this short film too, not from a Hungarian source 🙂
