Those geese are smarter pedestrians than most people I know.

So true! Especially on the college campuses I’ve attended and work at!

Those are very well behaved Canada geese, so they are definitely not from Québec because we are the champion jaywalkers of the country. LOL!

But, but, but – they could’ve FLOWN!!!!

Aahhhh Mike! I see what you did there with Gigi and ‘hahnk’. 😀 Heck, we have comment in-jokes now!

That’s really impressive! I could picture crows/ravens doing that, but I didn’t realize geese were so smaht – er, smart.

      Crows/ravens go one step farther.

        Crows are scary smart

Thanks, that’s just the one I was thinking of! Also, after that video (at least on my computer) is the one where they’re solving a multi-step puzzle using a stick, a string, etc.

Also – Happy Birthday to David Attenborough – he turned 90(!) a few days ago.

This doesn’t surprise me at all.? If you haven’t seen the PBS video, “A Murder of Crows” I highly recommend it!

Interesting how they walk single file in the crosswalk but once out it’s just a mish mash.

  6. Doug May 25, 2017 / 1:57 pm

What are you talking about Willis

We always have our ducks in order …

  7. Blue Footed Booby May 25, 2017 / 2:54 pm

Ahahaha, they’re going single file. That’s so obnoxious.

  8. debg May 25, 2017 / 3:25 pm

They had the sense to use the crosswalk, unlike Canada geese here in Colorado. I often have to stop in the middle of the street or go around the sillies when they just step into the street willynilly.

    • Gigi the cat lady May 25, 2017 / 5:17 pm

Your goose are probably from Québec then, LOL! We’re such incorigible jaywalker my city had to put a fence along the middle of the main boulevard in order to force people to cross at the light. LOL!!

I LOVE that these geese are walking SO SO SO SLOOOOOWLY, when they could have actually flown over the road in 4 seconds!!!

    • 6rabbits May 25, 2017 / 8:13 pm

Oh no, Canada geese are all about crossing the road as slowly as possible! I don’t know if they’re smart or just feel very entitled to the right of way! Sometimes they are obnoxious and stop in the road and just…LOOK. Drives everyone crazy around here. They are oblivious to car horns, or anyone trying to rush them across. You just have to give in and wait them out. ?

      • Dana May 25, 2017 / 10:37 pm

It’s because it’s a crossWALK, and these very smart geese are obeying the law by not flying instead. The single file thing is incredible. Animals can make humans look so stupid.

Goose line up in crosswalk reminds me of Beatles Abby Road.

    Crows, wow.

  11. murkle46 May 25, 2017 / 10:58 pm

The single file could be from some flocking behavior instinct, like when they fly in a V.When they form a group it kicks in?

    • Faye May 26, 2017 / 12:38 am

      Ah, sounds plausible.

  12. SoccerSue May 26, 2017 / 11:34 am

They’re Canada geese, so obviously they would say, “Honk, eh?” And then thank all the drivers for stopping. 😀

True Bostonians – we don’t wait for red lights. We just start crossing when there is no on-coming traffic.
