The Q-tipping Point

And now, relax. Clear your little bird brain of all the stresses and worries of the day, and let the soothing sensations transport you to a place of bliss. Relax… relax…

Oooh-kay, that’s a bit too relaxed.

Thanks for sharing this,  Gigi The cat lady. Now I know why I pass out every time I clean my ears.

What kind of birdie is that? It looks so soft and fluffy.

I dreamt I was falling! I hate when that happens. Lol.

    Omg. Too cute.

I’m the same way when I get a head massage at the hairdresser!

This is why you don’t get a massage standing up, kiddies.

The arrangement of the feathers on the lower body makes him look like he’s still in half an eggshell.

What kind of birdling is this?

Duckie, I thought the same thing – he’s in his own little feathered shell. Hilarious – tho’ I hope he was OK!

I too thought he was sitting in an eggshell. Did not expect the fall backwards.

Yes! I also wondered why he was ensconced in a feathery eggshell. And right at the end you get a glimpse of him, apparently unscathed, peeping out from behind the monitor.

If only q tips could give me that kind of bliss…

Looks like some sort of White-eye species.

from wikipedia “The white-eyes are small passerine birds native to tropical, subtropical and temperate Sub-Saharan Africa, southern and eastern Asia, and Australasia.”

Japanese white-eye according to another vid with similar bird. Too cute!

How sad. This can lead to Q-tip addiction as this poor birdy is suffering from,

Birds sometimes preen each other’s head feathers in bonding, and in the video it looks like the q-tip rub on the head prompts the bird to go into a female mating posture. My parrot somehow just decided when I got her that I’m her significant other, and so she does this kind of thing, too (tho not the falling). Hormonal stimulation can lead to health hazards, unfortunately, like feather shredding and laying infertile eggs (my bird has done/does both; I’ve gotten her to stop the egg laying, but not the feather picking). Sorry to be Debbie Downer….
